Wendy Dear,

It would be great if CIO will be back to work on Tuesday as queencougar suggests; Countdown already started buddy ....

I keep praying and my fingers crossed.

Best Of Luck to You!
;)

Thanks Katy, I hope Queencougar is right as well. I'd love to start the new year knowing I have the PER and that the first and probably biggest hurdle has been cleared successfully.

All the best to Queencougar, Rina (and I :D) so that we may all get our PERs asap.

I don't know if you guys have heard this one before but I think the forum needs a little lightening up:

An engineer dies and reports to the pearly gates. St. Peter checks his dossier and says, "Ah, you're an engineer — you're in the wrong place." So the engineer reports to the gates of hell and is let in. Pretty soon, the engineer gets dissatisfied with the level of comfort in hell, and starts designing and building improvements. After a while, they've got air conditioning, flush toilets and escalators, and the engineer is becoming a pretty popular guy. One day God calls Satan up on the telephone and asks with a sneer, "So, how's it going down there in hell?" Satan replies, "Hey, things are going great. We've got air conditioning, flush toilets and escalators, and there's no telling what this engineer is going to come up with next." God replies, "What??? You've got an engineer? That's a mistake — he should never have gotten down there; send him up here." Satan says, "No way! I like having an engineer on the staff, and I'm keeping him." God says, "Send him back up here or I'll sue." Satan laughs uproariously and answers, "Yeah right. And just where are YOU going to get a lawyer?"

Guys,

Did anyone who has got his PER, try to contact his VO (via email or phone) to ask for the status of his application, next step or the time frame ??
I'll try to do that myself but after a while, so as to give sometime to my application to reach my VO.

hey folks!
back from holiday mood :D :D :D ; but .....still cio seems to be in holiday trip... ;D ;D ;D
I was wondering about the note in cic website of the PCC.
Note: If you are including your police certificates with your application to the CIO, please ensure that your certificates were not issued more than three months earlier. Police certificates are generally valid for 12 months from the date they are issued. However, if a final decision is not made on your application before the expiry of your police certificate, the visa office may request that you provide a new one.

DOES THIS MEAN ONCE THE PCC U GOT WILL BE VALID FOR 12 MONTHS THOUGH NOT SUBMITTED WITH UR APPLICATION?
I got my pcc on october so do i have to reapply as soon as VO asks or will the one i have will be ok as of 12months validity?
ANYONE ANY IDEA ::) ::) ::) PLEASE SHARE...........

My understanding is that it cannot be older than 3 months old when it is first received at CIC (either CIO or VO, whichever it was first sent to). So, people who sent it to CIO with their original application less than 3 months old, but it is more than 3 months old by the time that is forwarded to visa office, that is ok.

However, if you did not send the certificate to CIO with your original application, then you cannot now send a PCC older than 3 months to visa office when asked for it, so my opinion will be that you will need new PCC when they ask.

Wayne.,

Hello Friends:

Anybody who has already received their PER able to check their status online. There are two sets of number UCI number and Application number that starts with B*********. Which number should we use to check our status online.

Mine shows error. Anybody with any luck so far.

Thank you friends.

HI Members
I need your help regarding one matter. As indicated by some one in this thread that some of the forms have been changed on 23rd Dec, 2010. I sent my application on 20th Dec, 2010 and it was expected to reach CIO on 24th Dec but probably due to the Christmas holidays it is still in pending and not delivered yet. Now my question is that will this change effect my application?

Hi everyone, Ive been out for a while and havent touched a computer for the past few days ( the kettle and boiling thing) and was hoping to see a good news in my email and so far none yet. Yup, it seems that CIO employees are still on holiday mood. I was shocked to see the forum reaching 619 in the past few days even without PER. It seems that you guys been busy in the forum. Hi wenstump maybe you should try sleeping 10-12 hours from now on, hopefully we get our PER before the year ends.

Please find below the Mail i Recieved from New Delhi VO in response to my query on PCC

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

In general, you and everyone in your family who is 18 years of age or over must obtain a police certificate. You must obtain a police certificate from each country or territory where you have lived for six consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18.

Note that if you or your family members were under 18 years of age when you lived in one of these countries, the certificate is not required.

The certificate must have been issued no more than three months before you submit your immigrant / visa application.

If you have resided in Canada, do not submit police certificates from Canada until they are requested by the office processing your application.

It is your responsibility to contact the police or relevant authorities to request issuance of police certificates.

If you and/or any of your family members have resided in India since the age of 18, please obtain Police Clearance Certificates for each person.

For districts other than Punjab, police clearance certificates can be signed by the:

- Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)
- Superintendent of Police
- Deputy Superintendent of Police
- Commissioner of Police
- Deputy Commissioner of Police
- Additional Commissioner of Police
- Station House Officer (SHO)
- Various inspector and constable ranks
- Subdivisional magistrates
- The Regional Passport Office

Please note, however, that only the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), or the Regional Passport Office may sign a police certificate for residents of the Punjab.

Dear all

I hope you have noticed the Highlighted portion in the post

The certificate must have been issued no more than three months before you submit your immigrant / visa application.

Please correct me if i am reading between the lines, it says befor you submit your application,

This is my query

My Visa Application reached CIO on 7th of Oct 2010, hence can the Issue date of PCC be any time after 7th July 2010?
