Hi - that's an out of date version of this:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

It was updated again on October 29, and looks like CIC are planning to update it regularly, especially with 1122 NOC being so close to being filled.

I hope you are correct about a smaller wait time for post June 26 applicants Wayne, the window of opportunity for me to move becomes smaller as the wait time increases, considering my application gets approved in the first place.

The consultant also mentioned another interesting fact. The backlog was 600,000 applications last year and it is now 400,000... They will still process 200,000 applications this year regardless of what they get through the new 20,000 cap procedures... so the workload will be the same for them.

Do you have any idea where you will hopefully be landing?
Cam

Well actually moving to Canada, plans are next autumn (so around Sept 2011), depending on visa. If we are able to land before then to complete record of landing then we will do. If we have to wait longer for visa it's not the end of the world we'll just save up extra funds.

so...after 15 minutes on phone, I am not told something new. Processing 2nd Sept applications, wait time 33 weeks.

If they are processing applications 2nd September, that means all the applications from 26th June to 1st September are already processed. Those people should then have already had their AORs yet must still wait 33 weeks?

CIC really need to start communicating else the 33 week rumour will rumble beyond this forum and they are really going to be swamped in phone calls.

Previous timeline for AORs was 45 to 90 days. 33 weeks = 231 days. This new process was supposed to make things faster, not 4 times slower! Honestly, I think CIC have some explaining to do.....

Doc Manu: They will ask for proof of your identity so they know who they are talking to, also date of application receipt at CIO so have your delivery info handy. Good luck.

Agreed!
I guess I will start saving on funds also, as you suggested... just in case the process takes an eternity. My family was hoping on a Sep. 2011 landing as well... I have two kids and it will be difficult/unfair to move them during the school year... unless we wait till Sep.2012 :o :'(

Well, since there is no 120 day process, the timelines when the application makes it to visa office should be faster than before. However, this does not help us much if CIC are inexplicably intending to delay sending it to the visa office for 8 months!

I feel the way they are pumping out this 33 week figure but not giving any reasoning for the delay, or even exactly what the delay means, is very unfair.

Once again, a few minutes spent communicating on their web site what's going wrong would save a lot of phone calls and a lot of frustrated applicants.

At the end of the day Canada needs skilled immigrants, and currently I don't think they are treating their potential new residents very fairly...

Probably they are more focused on clearing the backlog than concentrating on post 26/6 applications. I can't see any logic behind this 33 weeks thing unless this is the approx period for completion of whole process for post 26/6 applicants.

That, in my mind, could be the only explanation of 33 weeks. The May/June applicants are all getting AORs and should be finished soon... I read somewhere that they would process post June 26 first though and then the backlog... maybe that is not the case. Communication is lacking as Wayne says.

Have any first time applicants, who submitted their application post June 26, received their ID number? Anyone know...

Hi Team,

I was going through the April, May , June 2010 applicants thread, most of them have got the AOR's and have started sending the full doc's to respective visa office (VO) as per the old process. In case if CIC start issuing the AOR to post June 26 2010 applicants then our entire document will be automatically (electronically)transferred in max of two working days time (from AOR issue date) to the respective VO. In this scenario there will be a flood of documents at the VO (of April, May, June and Post June 26 applicants). Probably this is heavily on the mind of the CIC officials and hence they are delaying the release of AOR's to post June 26 applicants .
If the Canada Immigration officials decide that the VO process the documents on first come first server basis and start releasing the AOR's of post June 26th applicants, then May and pre June 26 (2010) applicants are at disadvantage as they are still preparing to send the full documents to VO.

Below are the Scenario I can think of
A) If the CIC decides to release the AOR of post June 26 2010 applicants at one go, then due to the overlap of the post June and pre June (2010) applications, VO might be issuing the Med request by only by 5-6 months from the date of AOR's issue (for post 26 applicants) and from the 2nd AOR received date for pre June 2010 applicants.

B) If the CIC decide to clear the back log (at least by 80%) of pre June 2010 application, then they might delay the AOR release of post June applicants by JAN- FEB 2011 then the med request time frame might come down to 2 months time.

C) ) If the CIC decides to release the AOR of first 500 0r 1000 eligible post June 26 2010 applicants in this month (November)then still VO might be issuing the Med request by only by 4-5 months from the date of AOR's issue due to the overlap of the post June and pre June (2010) applications.

There are other scenario but wanted to highlight only the above ones.

Anyways I think that we have been caught up in the transition phase and there might be a delay in issue of Visa. I sincerely hope the CIC issue the post June applicants AOR and the VO gets in more people to process the sudden surge in eligible applications.

In my case if the VO does not request for Medicals by Feb 2011 and my family passport by April - May 2011 for visa stamping then I have to admit my kid to school. Let the Almighty God Help us all..
Please feel free to correct me if Iam wrong, I was just expressing my opinion .

Warm Regards
Bindu
