yes, i called it from Egypt
I think they will start doing the eligibility for 1st week of september applicants during the next week so i'll call them again on Wednesday to check my application (CIO received my application on 2-Sept) and of course i'll update u.
When i asked her about the AOR, she asked me what do u mean by AOR (so strange she don't know the expression AOR !!) then she told me you will receive a notification letter with your reference no. (this is what we called AOR) right after the eligibility but she don't know precisely when because i am not added yet to their system.
I hope when i call them on Wednesday, i can get more answers & of course i hope i will be in their system :D

Guys,

I just called +16139444000 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting +16139444000 end_of_the_skype_highlighting & here is what happened:

I waited about 20 minutes till an agent answered me.
I asked about my Client ID No & my application status, she asked me about (First name, Last Name, Date of Birth & What is my program i.e FSW), she checked my status on their system then she replied me that i am not added in their system yet (i.e no Client ID No and no status). I asked her how come since i passed the completeness check & i got encashed??!! , she replied that the applicant is only added in their system & got an ID No whenever the eligibility test is done. They are now doing the eligibility test to the application received on 30-Aug.
For the above we can conclude that they were checking 26-Aug applications yesterday & today they reached the 30-Aug applications (28 & 29-Aug were their weekend) so they checked 27-Aug & 30-Aug today.
Unfortunately i couldn't ask her if we catched up the cap by the encashing or we must pass the eligibility test so as to be added to their system & catch the cap, i'll call again at the end of the next week to check my status & ask that question.

Hi that's very useful information. Co-incidentally 30th August is the day our application arrived!

Very strange that if the processed eligibility reviews for almost all of July + August now that still NOBODY has received an AOR? Possibly there is a very long delay between eligibility review complete and AOR issued.

Wayne.

Yes TravelDream as far as I know, Noolan and our friend's applications received July 19 and 26 have not been encashed, and NOT RETURNED EITHER. No obvious reason for either application why they have been "passed over" in the stampede. One is CC the other BD.
Secondly....HUMSAFAR: as far as points for work experience, yes you must have one FULL year minimum in one of the NOC 29 professions and to get the rest of the points up to four years of experience, the jobs MUST be in skill level O,A or B.[/font] I don't think anyone added that bit of information yet.

The agent told me that the notification letter with my reference no. is supposed to be sent right after my successful eligibility review !! but What she has told me contradicts the reality (i.e no AOR yet).

As i guess it's one of either two options:

- Only succesfully passed applicants (from the eligibility test) will be added to the system and given a client ID-number.
(and that's how they will start to count towards the cap)

or

- All the applican't will be added (either they passed from the eligibility or not) so as to have a reference number in case if they will re apply later.

We can discover which of the above possibilities is true in case if some one call and just hit the question directly.

Thank you so much Cappuccino and indira_prab for your help.

- Today I met with a consultant he told me that you will get full points of experience as far as you have atleast one year experience in short-listed categories and more than 4 years in any other occupation, I had argument with him on this, and his opinion was that law says it the person has to have on year experience in shortlisted categories, it doesn't say that you have to have four year experience in the same category to score full 21 points.

From the reading of this thread, it does appear that only work experience from the demand occupations are considered in determining points - http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/i-follow-all-minister-instructions-but-embassy-make-own-rules-t49966.0.html .

Congratulations Carl. Best wishes for you,me and all.
yes, best wishes for everyone. I hope and pray that everyone here will have our VISA's by nex year.

Hi guys just a reminder:

Every call entertained by them will cause additional delay. For post June 26 applicants, lets just wait patiently for our AOR.

this is an excerpt from the info guide http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG77.asp

"refrain from making unnecessary inquiries to the Canadian Visa Office regarding the status of your application"

Maybe, what they are doing right now is check all applications then set aside all the eligible and complete packages until they reach 20k, after the cap is filled then thats the time they will start sending the AORS simultaneously or by batches and at the same time return the ineligible candidates or those applications that did not reach them in time.

And if thats the case, with the information that we have, its safe to say that those applicants who were submitted to CIO by August 30, 2010 are at least safe from the cut-off.

Well, yes, there is no other go but to keep my fingers crossed.. I pray at least we give a decent fight before we give up, in a worst situation where the application finds it's way back or doesn't cross the river successfully.

Many more sleepless nights to come..

PS: This is not to intervene about all your optimism 8), but do you guys have some other ideas in mind to try to get to the Never Land :-*, in case this one is not successful?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Yawn... the wait is boring. Someone please crack an immigration joke to make things fun all the way. A little humor is never bad.
