Hi Rod,

It happened to me as well. So, I used to wait for 3 days and re-send the same email again. I would then get a reply. It happened to me. You can try the same.

Thanks,
satya.

Hello All,
Finally, An update on my file. I sent an email yesterday to buffalo VO asking for the status and they replied saying, "Your File has been transferred to NY Visa office on April 23rd". happy to hear that there is some movement at least.
But, I didn't receive any email from them unless I initiated a status email (reply on my email). Is this something that I have to worry for (that they don't initiate any email)?
Update: Transferred to NY VO on April 23rd

Thanks,
satya.
Congrats Satya, Wish you all the best and speedy processing of ur file. See you soon !!!

Hello everybody,

This is for a friend of mine. He is in USA right now and cannot make in to India. Can he apply for an India PCC, while he is in USA right now?

Please do pour in your experts advice, as he is stuck with this in the very last phase of his application process.

Looking forward to hearing from all.

Thanks in advance.

Have them contact the consulate in the US for your country (India). The consulate they should apply at usually depends on where in US they are at.
They should be able to apply for their PCC in the US at the consulate whether in person, online or via mail depending on the consulate.

Hope this helps.

Yes, Your Highness, he can avail Indian PCC from Indian Consulate. Since I dont now where he lives I cannot say which Consulate would be appropriate for him ; but below is the link for NY consulate that covers a number of states....

"How to Apply:

• Miscellaneous Services Form - Download the Miscellaneous Application form and complete the application form.
• Attach the following documents with the application form.
• Current Indian passport in original and photocopy of the first five pages and last two pages of the current passport.
• Proof of your US Visa Status:(copy of any one of the following)
• Photocopy of the page containing visa on passport (H1B, H4 etc) and the copy of I-94
• Clear Photocopy of Green Card
• Employment Authorization Document (Work Permit)
• I-797, I-140 or I-20 (If approval copy of these notices are pending, also attach a handwritten note detailing the efforts being taken to regularize status)
• Proof of current US residence address: (copy of any one of the following)
• U.S Driving license.
• Gas, Electricity, Water or landline telephone bill displaying applicant's address
• House Lease Agreement
• State Identification Card
• Note: Bank/credit card/mobile phone statements are not accepted as residence proof
• In case the Consulate receives applications with incomplete documentation, the same would be sent back unprocessed in the return envelope sent by the applicant.

Processing Time :

• Applying in person:
o No same day service for PCC. Applicants will be informed once the clearance is received.
• Applying by mail:
o Applicants will be informed once the clearance is received. "

The fees structure is mentioned in the website.
