Thanks for your prompt responses canadestin, mitali and sonir.

I still have a question :P

In the case that it might be getting delayed on account of this, isn't it more likely that NDVO would ask for the documents instead of sitting quiet like this and delaying things?? ?? ??? I of course have no issues in sending off the notarised copies of the old PPs... most logically and to be on safer side I surely should... But just plain curious so asking this... No intentions of challenging anyone here :P

I don't know your matter, but sharing my experience.

At application time I had submitted notiarised copies of all the pages of my Old & New passport. Still they have asked me to submit Original New & Old Passport.

After receiving the passport they have sent me clarification for some my marksheet in which my entry in India as per passport and month mentioned in the marksheet was not matching.

If you have previous travel history or not, if they ask submit it. If they don't ask no need to submit in order to avoid any complication.

Regards,

Please update our status.
ECAS is now showing
DECISION MADE
as of 27th December.

We have had passport requests but due to the holidays and the risk of the courier trying to deliver them and the VO being closed, we have decided to send them after the New Year break is over.

Congratulation

IMO....your file might have a BFD and VO will attend your file only on that date. Yes, you are right in saying that VO should intimate the applicant of the missing docs...but somehow this practice is not in effect. I got this impression after viewing some of the CAIPS notes. But if your docs reach the VO before the BFD then VO might attend your file earlier than the BFD.

Also make sure that the Photocopy is a clear one with all the details....

Thanks Mitali... So in your opinion I should not wait for them to ask and I should just send them off? Also, can you please tell me how we can know the BFD date? I recently got my GCMS so where should I check it out?

IN THE IMMIGRATION GUIDE THEY HAVE CLEARLY MENTIONED THE REASONS WHICH MAY DELAY PROCESSIN

Factors that may delay processing

The following factors may delay the processing of your application:
• unclear photocopies of documents
• documents not accompanied by a certified English or French translation

•information and documents provided required independent verification
•a medical condition that may require additional tests or consultations

•a criminal or security problem

Yes, NDVO would ask for the documents......but not immediately....may be on next BFD or another BFD.

We can take sonu's case for example: he had submmitted all pp's copies....NDVO checked his entry/exit dates and aslo the marksheet date...(they were not matching acc. to NDVO) so they had doubt...for which they asked for clarification....

u havent sent ur husband's pp copies....how can they check the entry/exit dates...and also cross check with marksheet/employment joining/dates?...they check whether the applicant was in right place when he/she joined company or wrote some exam etc.

for all that they need pp copies..specialy when some one has travel history.

Sonir application had some mistakes...so he did sent rectified one before MR.

So dont wait for them to ask for the copies....it will just delay.

NDVO aked for sonu's original Old and new pp...that is normal they ask for every one.....for visa stamping.....they asked old pp to check with the photocopies(as they have doubt n wanna confirm that photocopies r not copies of photoshoped)

No harm in sending the copies....it wont arise complication rather fasten the process.
