Alex,

Actually something strange happened and CIC removed October times and left July's for all VO's again (that's why the 21 is there now)

Went to Paris to get our PR Visa today! Next stop: "landed immigrant" in 2 weeks.

A new question arises though. We will be landing in Ontario and then return to finish our business in Belgium before we move to Canada permanently. When reading through the elligibility criteria for an OHIP card, I noticed you can not be outside Canada for more than 30 days during your first three months of residence.

Unfortunately, this will be more for us. What happens then? Is the three month waiting period before you can get Ontario Health Care only extended by the extra time you were outside Canada? In that case there would be no problem.
Or does it mean you will never be elligible for an OHIP card then (which seems outrageous and thus unlikely to me but it's not very clear on the website)
Good luck to all of you who are still waiting.
Kris

Congrats for everyone for any further positive step in his/her long way to Canada
I have just got my e-case updated to read: "Medical results have been received"

- Does this mean that our medical results are OK, and no further medical tests are required???
- What should be the next step from my side?, should I pay right now the fees of issuing the visas?
- Should I submit our passports, or Should I wait for any request from the VO side?

Buffalo's

I'm curious, did any of the September applicants from Buffalo VO (who went in process back in July and received med requests, visas etc.), receive job verification calls from the Visa Office? Did their previous employers?

Also, did medical requests come via USPS or something else...UPS, FedEX, etc.? They are closing one of the post offices here and I'm worried mail could get lost in the shuffle.

Thanks!

Mark

Mark,

I follow the forum pretty closely, but I could be wrong. As far as I recall no one got any verification calls from Buffalo. And medical requests so far seems to come via Snail Mail (USPS)

Hi,

I just spoke to service ontario customer care center to find out (for you) and here is what they said:

Once you land in ON, canada to finish off the landing procedure, you are eligible to apply for OHIP and you should not be out of ON for more than 30 days. If you plan to stay out for more than 30 days, then dont apply before leaving to your country. Your application will be invalid in that case. Come back to canada and then apply. In reply to your question, Going to your country for more than 30 days wont affect your eligibility for OHIP.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,
satya.
