I have contacted the local SBI bank and than subsequently the Canadian subsidiary of SBI . They have sent me following mail. the input of the forum will highly valuable for me.

Hello,

You can open a Savings Bank account with us under Non resident category by forwarding a duly filled in account opening form (to be downloaded from our website www.sbicanada.com ) which could be verified by one of our Indian branches. Once account is opened & you have the account no. , you may remit funds to your account. Please also attach copies of your duly verified passport & letter issued to you by Canadian authorities.

2. Consequent upon your arrival here , we shall make that account active after obtaining / verifying your landing documents & Social Insurance Number. Please let me know if this serves your requirement.

How many branches / ATM they have in Canada will matter.

Do they charge for the transaction ?

What about the credit card, will they offer one like Scotia ?

Check with your DMP and ask if additional tests are required?

I sent them CSQ and in reply they told me that "request for additional medical information has been sent to you and awaiting result of those" I have not recd anything yet so will be checking my mails so I dont knw exactly what they want. But my DMP said at the time of sendng mediclas that everything is normal so am confused what they need now

Hi cutenut (Love your ID btw... ;D),

When did you get this email? If its already 7 days that you've received this response then send an CSE again to clarify you confusion with VO ...but before that call your DMP and discuss the issue. Maybe its an error on CIC and your file is being held for no reason. Act ASAP..... I know you will.
