hi everyone

i just checked my ecas status. It is showing decision made. further it is showing we have sent you a letter and we started processing on march 9 2011. I am very tensed. pl suggest.I havent got the medical request letter yet.

Don't worry Maggi,
You can try sending an inquiry as Indira suggested.. & isA (by god's will) you'll receive a good answer to ease your worries..
just don't get worried now, we all know how unreliable the ecas system is

He he he, don't be so pessimistic mate. Buffalo are known to sleep for longer than most "animals" (Insert VOs here) , they are also known to be very fast and hard working when they are not sleeping. So don't knock it pal. The New Delhis and Manilas of this word might just suddenly find themselves overtaken. Once the Buffalo is awake he can't be stopped ;D

Congratulations to those who received their PER, AOR and good news. I'm afraid I have a bad news. The officer was not satisfied with my work experience. The worst thing was my subjection to write another General IELTS. I went through hell and spend a lot of money trying to write the exam...

I am so sorry for this news.. I hope you try to get further proof & maybe contact them..
sometimes they make mistakes.. so why not try asking them to reassess your case & if they need further proof try sending them more related documents..

& even if that doesn't work out.. just try again..
when you insist on persuing your dreams.. it just has to finally give up & materialize

Hey Everyone ...
We finally completed our medicals yesterday(friday) and the doctor dispatched the results today .....ah !!...what a relief !
And also planning to send RPRF,PCCs and Passports on monday that is 14th march ...
Its getting exciting now ... ...cant wait to have visas in hands...

Dear Members,
Now i am more confused then ever before!
My VO is ND. I am in some other country. If i get my meds done here then where should the DMP send the papers to? Nairobi ? to ND?

I think this same issue would be faced by many on this or other forums.

CHC ND Says:

Immigration medical examinations can be completed in Canada or in any place in the world where there is a Designated Medical Practitioner (DMP). For a complete list of DMPs in Canada and around the world, please visit this website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medical.aspx. If an application is in process in India and the medical examination is completed outside of India, please remember to inform the DMP that the results will need to be sent to India, so they can be matched up with the correct file.

Where as DMP handbook says

All immigration medical exam documents are sent to the regional medical office in the DMP's area (Nairobi in my case). The regional medical office will then transfer the information to the appropriate immigration office either in North America or overseas.For example, a DMP in Montréal would send the medical report for an applicant applying from China to the Ottawa regional medical office, which would then send the medical report to the Beijing immigration office, where the application is being processed.

Also, 1st page of my MR says:
"We require the following:
1) RPRF
2) Valid Passport or travel document for yourself Upon completion of all requirements This must be received at this office by: 04/16/2011.
3) Medicals


Whereas, the last page of the MR says:
"Please DO NOT send your passports to us until we request them from you."


I got a revert from a couple of frds for PP. But the idea of me staying in a foreign land without my PP is certainly not a good scene. Please any other ideas?

I believe that you should just make your medical examination from a DMP in the country you are in as soon as possible & it's their responsibility to send it to NewDelhi VO in the way they are used to sending it, you aren't probably the only case they face.. Just remind him that it needs to be send to ND VO so that he might not send it to the VO responsible for the applications in the country you are making the medical exam in right now...

Thanks a lot for your valuable advice, wanted to know one more thing , did you submit 5 negative of the black & white photo during your medicals.

I"m planning to send the passport after the medicals (god willing by March 17th), as I belive the VO would keep our passport under safe custody until a decision is made.

Hi Bindu,

1. The first page of the letter is case specific, whereas the subsequent pages are standard instructions. So the request for passport on first page supersedes the general information on following page.

This is a general opinion of the other forum members who received Passport request.

I am planning to send an email to NDVO today for the clarification on the same. I will update you if I hear anything from them. I am planning to send my documents by 21st March. So, if I don't hear anything from VO before that, I am going the send my Passport too.

2. It is not necessary to use a registered government post. It's a matter of choice and you can use any reliable courier service to send the documents. They would have specified clearly incase they do not accept the couriers. I will prefer the courier service for obvious reasons.

3. Paying RFRF in CAD $ or INR is again a personal choice. Since you are in India, it will be convenient to pay in INR. Also, at later stage, when you need to find out if the DD was en cashed or not, it will be lot easier if the DD was made in INR.
