Application Status Didn't Change

Hello,
I am from Sudan and I applied for a study permit. I submitted my biometrics on May 18th and my application status is "Open" and hasn't change yet.

I used online application and my visa office is Cairo. This Office has processing time of 8 weeks as per cic. Is it normal to stay as it is for this much time (5 weeks)? Shouldn't the application status have changed to "being processed" or somethinh similar ?

You will still have to exhaust your maximum 8 weeks before u can make specific enquiry and it will be attended to. If you make an attempt now it may not be repsonded to bcos it has been stated that if ur time is still within your enquiry will not be responded. So keep ur finger crossed. I am in the same shoe with u now as i have only a week to go to finish my 5 weeks time frame. By next week i am planning to write for specific case enquiry. Wish u best of luck.

Thanks a lot foryour reply. I am trying to know whether the application status changes to reflect that the application process has actually begun or it stays "Open" until a decision is made? What does your application status say?

If u status still remain 5 weeks with 'open' it is unusual, so u can make specific case enquiry.
