Application sent to CIC 2011 but no news of processing

Hello I sent my application on nov 1 2011 to cic. I know it was delivered on time. It doesn't permit me to check my application status online it might be bcz they havn't processed it yet. How will I know when they have begun processing it and be able to view its progress online? Please can someone help? Thanks

Your first sign will be the letter approving the sponsor. The cic website says they are currently working on sponsor apps from Sept 8, 2011 and that current processing time is 67 days. See here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-fc.asp

Then you app will be forwarded to the appropriate visa office. Once they get going on it you should be able to see updates online. Not all offices use/update e-cas reliably though. I wouldn't look for any news until the start of 2012...

Did you intimate yourself with the website? Don't expect any letter of approval until January as they are still attending to Sept applicants.
