I mailed the application on Dec-01-2017
Received at Sydney: Dec-04-2017

Today Feb-15-2018, the application returned with the reason that it was post-dated (the signature dates is after the date they received it)

I checked that the first page has a red stamp mention: Nov 29 2017 - RECEIVED
Which is not correct date.
My official payment receipt issues on Nov 30 2017 so how come it is attached to an application that received on Nov 29 2017. Probably the mail receiving staff forgot to change the stamp date to Dec 04 2017.

They ask me to resubmit my application and fix the dates :)

I called them and they advised me to write a letter and attached the mail tracking number, which I am doing right now. A two month of waiting, another 6 month of waiting.....and maybe more if the stamp is not corrected.

For anyone, please make sure you sign your application at least one week before mailing it to avoid such weird case.

That is very very weird. I don’t think signing your application and waiting one week to send it is good advice though. What happened to you is a freaky and very unlucky incident.

Does it actually matter when you sign the application so long as its not in the future or received beyond 90 days of sign date? and does it matter if the sign date is before/after things like payment date or the date printed on a police check etc?

Fees payment: 30/11/2017
Application signed: 1/12/2017
Application mailed: 1/12/2017
Application received: 4/12/2017

Mail man receive stamp: 29/11/2017 [mistake by mail man]

Application returned on Feb 9 as the application signature date is after the mail man receive date (post dated signature).

You are good as long as your application signature is before the mail room stamp date!!

Does this kind of thing happen very often?! Its ridiculous that you have lost over two months for absolutely nothing.

I have lost 90 days and guess what?? I have re-applied for special processing [family emergency] and marked my package as URGENT and till today I haven't receive a single response from CPC/IRCC not even AOR.

I am focusing on the family emergency and would fly out for couple of month, I can't track my application or get any help.

Let Mr Mailman stamp my application back dated :)

Family First!
