Hi Shinji30,

I was following this thread. I got my PPR ON jULY 30 from Seattle. They received my passport on August 15.I got 'Decision made' on August 20. But still I have not received my passport.I rad your thread you received your passport. I am sure mine is on the way. I live in Northern BC. Just want to know where you live sothat I can figure out postal duration for me. Please let me , If you don't mind. I am concerned about post as they are sending in first class mail.

Thank you.
KUM25, you should get yours pretty soon. It took around 6-7 business days after they sent out passports for average ppl who live in BC. I am in whiterock bc and just 10 mins away from the border.

Can anyone tell me when you are legally a permanent resident and free to work and travel as you please? Is it when you land or when you receive your PR card?

after landing and you have your new SIN number

and travel as you please?
If you are traveling between the U.S. and Canada with your vehicle you do not need PR card.
You need the PR card only when you fly, or arrive by boat in Canada.

Is it when you land or when you receive your PR card?
Between 10 and 12 weeks or look here

So you don't have to wait until you have your PR card before you begin working elsewhere?

@Fenster,

No, you only need the new SIN number
These get so only if you have done the landing.
With the new SIN can you work where you want.

The PR card is only important for travel not for working ...

My time line:

Hi all,

I got my CSQ in Quebec end of 2010.

I sent my Application to Buffalo and later on it was transferred to case processing pilot ottawa.

Application received: May 26 2011
Medical requested: November 14 2011
Medical Result received: Late 2011, no exact time displayed.

Since then I haven't heard anything from them, I called CIC but was told they don't have any information regarding the status, and told me to contact CPP directly through Email. I have sent a couple email inquiries but no response either. It has been 15 months and the average processing time is 15 months on the CIC website.

What else can I do? Is it normal to not have "in process" in CIC status after 15 months?

Much appreciated!

You should have received your passport now. I also live in Northeastern part of BC. My visa was stamped on August 14th and received it on the 23rd. There must be a problem with the mailing system.

Hey,

Mine didn't change to "in process" until the day I got my PPR. So to answer your question, yes it is normal to not have "in process" after 15 months. You can order GCMS notes I think which will show you where you are at in the process stage e.g which stages you have passed, which they have not started working on etc. This won't make the process move any faster at all but might give you some peace of mind. Many others on here have ordered the notes so they can tell you how to do it.

My own advice would be to sit tight and just try and be as patient as possible.

Hope it comes soon mate.

Yes. And I think everyone did receive their passports back through USPS first class mail (regular mail).

I received PPR on July 30th.
Seattle received my passport on August 6th.
Visa stamped on August 14th.
ECAS showed decision made on August 17th.
Received passport back on August 23rd.

Try to email Seattle about your situation, maybe they can assist you because you cant track where your passport and COPR are.
