Hi,

I am currently a senior at UofT, graduating this June.
I was just wondering if there's anyway I can apply for the Canadian Experience Class prior to the date of my graduation, and attaining my diploma.
Won't I be able to prove my graduating status with the documentation from the college?
I'm just looking for ways to speed up the process.
Thank you.

Regards,
Steve

I'm sorry to say it, but you won't be eligible for CEC even after graduation. For CEC you have to gain at least one 1 year of professional work experience in Canada, while any work experience gained on Study Permit doesn't count.

Thank you for the reply. I am sorry I mixed up the terminology. I meant PGWPP.
It states

- You must apply for a work permit within 90 days of receiving written confirmation (for example, a transcript or an official letter) from your institution indicating that you have met the requirements for completing your academic program.
- You must have completed and passed the program of study and received a notification that you are eligible to obtain your degree, diploma or certificate.

I am graduating in June. I do have my final exam to attend to, but I believe the college will be more than willing to give me the document that I will complete the program in time.
Thus, my question is can I apply now with that document? Or do I have to prove it with my graduation diploma at hand?

Thank you so much :)

Yeah after you graduate you apply for a post grad work permit. But this has nothing to do with CEC. No you have to show them that you graduated. Imagine you fail your final exams? Then you don't graduate, and you can't apply. They won't allow for any chance that you don't have the right credentials. You have to receive final transcripts. You can apply before your actual graduation, but not before your final grades come in. I was already working when I went to the graduation ceremony and had to take the day off work.
