Application of work permt is pending due to Back ground checks

Hello guys,

I received email from the embassy in UAE stated that my application is pending Back ground checks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could anybody help me, what does the background checks means?

Who long approximately will take to finalize my case?

Anybody has experience in case similar to mine.

Please help
