so my wife has her student permit my self and kids have our visas also but now that she has received it i want to apply for the open work permit would here not neing in canada affect my application , her school starts in september looking for guidance

Yes you can apply for SOWP before she starts school. SOWP is not guaranteed to spouses of international students but you can apply.
