Application for citizenship - tracking

I have applied for a citizenship certificate (adult) under Section 3 at the start of the calendar year, I am doing this from abroad (the UK). My application was paper-based.

I have gone through the embassy in London, they sent off my documents to the official sorting house in Canada at the end of March 2018 once they had reviewed my application. I have since received confirmation that the the Immigration team in CPC-Sydney has received my application, they sent me an offical letter with a UCI number and an application number.

I have tried tracking the status online (using both the UCI and application number), however the search doesn't show anything.

I then tried linking my paper based application to an online account on the cic website, however it doesn't give me the option to link a citizenship certificate application to my online account - the only options available are ETAs, Permanent Residence or Permanent Residence card

I would appreciate any help on how I can track my application.

Many thanks

After you receive the AoR you should be able to track your application by ecas:
https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/introduction.do?app=ecas

Also, you can send a web form inquiry asking for an update as its more than 6 months from application date.
https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

Citizenship Process Acronym Guide:
CIC: Citizenship and Immigration Canada
AOR: Acknowledgement of Receipt (email or physical mail informing you that your application has been received)
ECAS:Electronic Client Application Status (Online service through CIC where you can check your status)
IP: In Processing
DM: Decision Made
RQ: Residency Questionnaire
FP: Fingerprint Request

I'm considering you received your AoR a few days ago ... so , you can call CIC or send the webform asking for help regarding your access issue if you can not access by any option available for "identification type" listed in the ecas.

Thank you for the links above and your suggestion of contacting the CIC.

I received my AoR at the start of June, so almost 2 months ago! I will get in touch with them directly.

Many thanks
