hi all,

i have a question. today i tried applying for the bridging work permit as mine will expire soon. the online application requires LMO and other forms from employer. Are those necessary? because as far as i read, if i applied for CEC and got my acknowledgment letter from CIC, that should be enough right?

i am very confuse. would be great if anyone can tell me better.

thank you very much
sharmin

You might not have answered the questions correctly:

"Have you been told by a Citizenship and Immigration Canada office that you are approved in principle for permanent residence in Canada?"

Answer "yes" (in this context, the 'acknowledgement of receipt' email amounts to approval in principle)

"Have you submitted a permanent resident application in Canada?"

Answer "yes"

"Do you have a written job offer?"

Answer "no" (an open permit does not need one)

Yeah it's an open work permit. No LMO (or LMIA now?) required.

Hi Sakhter,
I just called them yesterday regarding the same question.
They told me to leave the LMO feild empty (or to print it, right N.A. and then scan it back) and to explain the situation in the explanation letter

Good luck
