For new applicants: I heard that in the past we used to send the initial application to Sidney and once approved, we would send an updaed application along with full documents to the visa post. Now, I heard things changed:

1. So, does everything(application and full set of documents) goes to Sydney now including IELTS?

2. What about medicals?

3. Is Sydney faster than the Visa pots were?

4. Is the time frame the same?

Thank you.

1. So, does everything(application and full set of documents) goes to Sydney now including IELTS? you send everything to Nova Scotia. Once your eligibility is confirmed, nova sctia sends your file to the VO

2. What about medicals? you will get the medical forms from the VO, and the results will be sent to the VO

3. Is Sydney faster than the Visa pots were? not necessarily. Sydney just confirms eligibility

4. Is the time frame the same? each VO has its own timeframes. Check CIC site for details under "Processing Times"

Thank you.

So, the only different than before is that before we used to send only the initial application to Sydney, NS and once approved we would send the documents to the visa post and the visa post would evaluate the documents and now the visa post evaluates the documents and send the approval to the vista post, correct? Why the change?

This is to reduce bogus or disqualified applications. People used to misrepresent their information or miscalculate their scores. By sending full app to NS, eligibility can be confirmed.
