New data is uploaded finally for the statistics of received applications by visa offices up to October, 2013 ( http://data.gc.ca/data/en/dataset/fd6f93ed-6249-42a4-ac30-5a1a7aa48389 ).

Interesting numbers. Vienna received 23, 10 and 2 applications for May, June and July respectively (56, 22 and 3 persons), which is quite low compared to the 15 applications entered in the FSW2013 spreadsheet, so quite a lot of us - FSW2013 applicants - registered in the forum, 43% of all files.

Also, they only have to deal with 81 persons, which is less than 1/6th of their yearly quota, so they should start processing all of us within 2 months. Now that we know they have already started, I wish every FSW 2013 applicant a nice CoPR in hand by June the latest! :)

All below is only about Federal Skilled Worker applications (not for Provincial or Quebec applicants, that is a different queue, different processing times, etc.)

So. You open the excel sheet (000026-eng.xls), click Enable Editing and Enable Content at the top if needed (latest Excel versions do that), and go to the 4th tab "By Month - Par Mois". Filter to "Skilled Workers", "Federal" and "Persons" at the top in the drop-down menus. Now scroll down to Vienna, and look at May, June and July 2013. Actually it is only 52, 22 and 2 persons respectively (I did not exclude Quebec before). These are the FSW 2013 applicants, with their spouses and children.

Now, we know that they just started processing Borojevic, who only filed as an FSW 2013 applicant, in May, 2013. So my theory is - supported by what we can see for New Delhi, London, etc. - that they actually prioritize FSW 2013 processing over the rest of the backlog, over MI-1, MI-2 or MI-3, with or without job offer. In 2013 they just promised - again - that FSW 2013 program will be processed in less than a year. It seems like this time they try to keep that promise. And for that, they had to start processing exactly now (2-3 months before the deadline).

But don't worry, since it is only 76 persons (52+22+2), we should be processed fairly quickly, in less than 2 months. That is the most of the additional delay the other applications will have to take. Still, since their backlog should be no more than 350-400 persons now, everyone will be processed this year, most probably by end of fall the latest. The 5000 cap for FSW 2013 was exactly calculated for that, so they can finish all backlogs before 2015, before the new EOI system.

Of course maybe I made a mistake somewhere, but the start of processing for Borojevic can not be a coincidence, as some people are waiting since 2012, without any update. So what other reason could be for that, other than what I assumed here?

Good luck to everyone!

oszi, I agree with you (and I hope you're right :))
Also take a look on table provided by BC who kept old data sheet's and compared its data
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/applicants-vo-vienna-please-join-t79097.0.html;msg2945055#msg2945055

Data update was on March 01'st but I (I assume as well as you) got robot mail few days ago about minor change on page.
But data in table is same from March 01'st.

What I'm trying to say is, I don't think they didn't process earlier cases.
Actually I believe they've been working on old cases exclusively until now (Borojevic case) and now they probably started our (FSW2013) cases.
Now we will see how will they progress.

All eyes are now directed to Borojevic :)

They didn't process old cases, some from 2011, and some from jan, feb 2012 and that's it. Its not fair that new one have a priority. After fsw2013 will come EOI, and then they will be a priority, and so on in a circle..first, they said it will be resolved in the order applications are received to the Vienna office, after that they processed may2013. Before that, they said that they have to much cases, and the whole previous year haven't done any of them, now we see on the table that they have only 250 cases( 250 cases for Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Austria, Slovakia, CzechR, Germany, Netherlands, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Bosnia, Montenegro..) I think that they play with us, playing with our patience, experimenting, i guess, if we're tight enough :) People form Vienna office, I am a strong enough, give me the visa!! :D

I received changedetection notification mail that Visa Office quotas has been changed.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/ips/economic.asp

Luckily, Vienna didn't lowered its annual quota. Only few offices has changed.
Vienna remains with 500 FSW cases annually.
Actually a lot of VOs' quotas were significantly decreased, mostly asian offices though (New Delhi, Beijing, Hong Kong), where backlog did not justify their huge allowances to issue FSW visas. Compare it to my table I posted not long ago. It can clearly be seen that many quotas were set to strange values now, which were probably just the backlog for those offices. Also the total number of FSW quota is 58.600, which means they can finalize every FSW applicant this year (global backlog had to be way below that number at the beginning of 2014).

This update somewhat correlates with the 2nd line for Borojevic also, so now that quotas are finally set, I hope eCAS updates and MRs will start to rain. :)

Great news! :) While we wait for some more good news, I have some questions that are on my mind:

1. Did all of Vienna applicants received notification that their file had been transferred to Vienna? (should I worry, because I didn't get any notification after PER?)
2. If I get an interview invitation, does my husband need to go to the interview as well?
3. Are the interviews exclusively held in Vienna? Is there a chance of attending the interview in some other city/country ?

Would appreciate your thoughts on these questions...

DMM,

Following is my opinion:

1. Nop, don't worry. Vienna (like London as well) doesn't send AOR's.

2. As far as i know - yes. Everybody who are specified in application should be presented on interview. God I hope they will not call us on interview.

3. I believe in Vienna exclusively since this is your visa office.

Cheers!
