I have called them, but it is busy all the time. (18882422100) Which number do you mean?

After dialing the number, wait for some seconds, then press 7, followed by 0 after some seconds again.

Congratulations ojohn22. Any one else is the Dec 1 applicant?

Thank you very much wangjinwei. There was a forum member who is also a Dec 1 applicant and I remember I asked her/him to inform us (fellow Dec 1s) whenever she got her MR.

I was away for a period of time. Big congrats to all who got MR and PPR. :D

For my case, I am still waiting though many late September applicants got PPR. Fingers crossed.

I never called. But I remember someone else in this stream called before. You will get some help from others.

Guys,

Did any October PhD applicant get PPR recently?

I got my 4th line in ECAS on May 20th.
"A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision."

But I have not received the PPR email yet!!!!! >:( :(
How long does it take for them to send PPR email after ECAS update?

Hi all, (I apologize for the long post but I could REALLY use your help)

Some of you may remember my very unfortunate case, but here is a reminder: I submitted my application in September 2014 and was rejected at the CIO early stage in late December (before CC charge). I only received the application when I came back from Christmas break in mid-January, so it was too late to re-apply.

The reason for the rejection was “…not provided sufficient evidence that you have a minimum of one year of continuous full-time, or equivalent part-time, paid work experience in the primary occupation in the last ten years…”. I did submit two letters, one listing my experience as TA for 3 years (~350 hours total), and one with my experience as RA (~3120 hours). In hindsight, having two separate letters was a bad idea, since it required extra attention from them to add up the numbers. I do not have any other work experience.

Back in January 13th I sent both a letter and an email (with copies of the experience letters attached) explaining what I think was their mistake. Astonishingly, today I received an email reply from “TAM” at the Client Service Unit explaining that since they don’t keep records of the returned applications, in order to comment on the return he/she asks me to send back the unaltered application to his/her office for a review!!

Of course I am keeping my expectations VERY low, but it seems that there might be a chance that if I can provide a clear enough explanation, this person could put my application back on track!

So here is my question: back in February I consulted with an Immigration Specialist. Her almost immediate (and final) answer was that CIC was right and that I shouldn’t have even applied since it is clearly stated (she showed me the line but I can’t remember where it was) that any work experience obtained while being a full-time student is not counted. This link seems to suggest that for FSW it should be counted: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=855&t=6, but it doesn’t explicitly says if you can be a full time student at the same time.

I know that many of you here have applied with only NOC 4012 experience obtained while being full-time students in Canada, so how would you refute her argument?

Thank you very much for ANY help!!

Very happy to hear that. Actually, before Express Entry, all the work experience obtained during full-time study were considered. There is a link for that in CIC but they have modified it (I guess) after EE. Currently you can see this info in the following link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=855&t=6

I think you have a good chance of being accepted. Good luck

You cannot "alter" the original application materials. CIC may not keep copies of them, but the system may have corresponding information such as types and hours of working experiences.
You d better submit these materials as well as the up-to-date working experiences if u have.
There is not another choice for you. Do what CIC requests you to do no matter the working experiences of a full-time student is counted or not. At least take a try, right?
Anyway, do not give CIC one more excuse to reject you.

Congrats! This is a miracle which lets me less disappointed by their bureaucracy.

I am applying under NOC4012 without any other working experience so what the "specialist (??)" said was totally wrong, that was the standard for CEC.

The way I prepared for my application was I let each of my supervisor wrote a letter to prove my working experience as a RA/TA under their supervision. I requested them to highlight the total working hours in a separate paragraph. Secondarily I requested my university HR to offer a summary form including my total working hours and my salary. Third, I attached all my tax clips (T4) and paycheques. I used highlighter to mark on the hours and job titles on there too.

By doing this they cannot miss any component of my working experience. I was extra cautious about this. However it is not totally necessary. I know someone who also applied only under TA/RA working experience but he didn't prepare materials like mine. All he did was submit the letter from his supervisor.

In summary, you are totally eligible. But they might be picky at your case at that time, or your application came across with a picky officer, or they missed one of your two letters.

I think in any case, it is worth a try to let them re-judicate your case.
