You have to do 'flag-polling', leave Canada and land to obtain PR status. Just approach a CBSA officer and they will tell you what to do. PR card is mailed from Sydney after landing.

CIC says that if have a job offer, then you don't need to show POF. Having said that, it is always safe to keep back statement to avoid any problem.
