Hi guys Good Day!!!

Please suggest for this..... If someone applied under PhD stream with different NOC than 4012 (Let say NOC 3143-Therapist-got one year work experience from his/her home country), would the application be considered under NOC 3143 or remained under PhD stream? How do they count the application? i meant to say, the application would count as a PhD or other FSW application under NOC 3143?

How do they calculate point? if she/he only submitted experience letter from past job (No TA/RA from Canada) and a certificate from University indicating two years of successful completion of study?!! I don't think any PhD students (international) just study without any TA/Marker (but may not be RA) in Canadian Universities??

Thanks.

Congrats, Sebastianderp. I am Sept 23rd applicant and waiting for PER too :)

Considering of the Holiday Schedule and recent PER waiting time, you should get your PER email at the 2nd or 3rd week of next January. Good luck with that.

I think you have to explicitly specify that you are applying under PhD stream or not. And PhD student can also show their previous experience which is other than TA/RA.

This person can certainly apply under the PhD stream. He/she will have to submit evidences of having completed at least two years of full time PhD studies (attestation letter or transcripts in case of degree granted). With respect to work experience, this person will receive points based on the primary occupation they state in their application (Schedule 3, IMM0008). If they say they have worked under NOC 3143 and that's the primary NOC declared, all preliminary assessment will be based on reference letters for that NOC.

Please be informed that even if this person is providing work experience letters under another NOC different to 4012, their application must fall within the 500 cap for PhD stream. If they do not want their application to fall within the PhD stream cap, they better check if NOC 3143 is considered an eligible occupation for this year FSW. If the NOC 3143 is an eligible occupation, and therefore this person wants their application to fall within NOC 3143 cap instead of PhD stream cap, then be careful when submitting PhD transcripts. I know they will have to send PhD transcripts in order to gain the 5 points of adaptability, but they will need to write a cover letter saying that they are submitting an application under NOC 3143 to avoid confusion with PhD stream.

Good luck!

Yes, I agree with Formal_Varification.......basically there is three way to meet the ministral requirement for FSW. First you could fall in the NOC categories that they have listed in the web site, you could have an arranged employment or you could have finished at least two years of your PhD. For PhD stream you have to submit an attestation letter in addition as a proof of ur 2 yrs completion. I also have other work experience which I was not 100% sure directly fall in the NOC listed categories so I have chosen Phd and kept my RA/TA as my primary occupation and put the others as secondary.

I would wait for medicals before renewing her passport because the medical request form will have your wife's current passport number. The new passport will have a different number and therefore the CIC physician will not accept her for medical examination. Unless your consulate allows you to keep the old passport, I would not recommend to apply for a new passport before medicals.

Good luck!

Need advice seniors,

My application reached CIO on Aug-11-2014 and received PER on 2-Dec-2014.

My wife's passport is expiring on 4-Jun-2015

Should I apply for passport right now or I should wait for medicals first and then apply?

What do u guys think?

Thanks in advance.......

No worries, your application was delivered. I sent my PCC to Ottawa a month ago via Canada Post and they were received without any problem and the tracking info still says "in transit", LOL. I know it's annoying but that's how Canada Post works!

Hi, all,
I sent my files last month. I was so silly that didn't request a signature, The last tracking status only shows 'out for delivery', and the progress bar shows 'delivered'. How can i make sure my files are received safely? :(
Thank you.

I am using CPC-CTD-Ottawa email only, that OttPilot email is for the medical department only. And I will not email them again!

Hi,

Is there any October applicant already charged? My application reached CIO on Oct 15. I am a DD applicant and it is hard to get the status of DD from the bank so frequently, So I want to call the bank once I figured there is a high probability of being charged.

Thanks,

Hi Pepe,

The medical forms do not include passport number. I double checked them and they do not have it. Actually my wife renewed her passport and she did medical with the new passport. No problem happened since the medical forms only include UCI and file number.

Oh sorry, I meant the medical report the doctor sends to CIC. That one does have the passport number. But if you had no issues with that then go ahead and forget about my comment.

No problem, you can email them to update your file, here is their email address: CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca

Please remember to keep your correspondence with them to a minimum!!!!!!!!!!!! An angry Visa Officer is something you never want to happen!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,

Yes, my application was received on October 5th 2014 and my CC is charged on December 16. I guess for DD it takes 2 additional weeks.
Hopefully it will be charged soon.

Thanks @formal_verification for your reply. It was very promising. I hope I get charged very soon too, I applied with RA only and since many people got rejected under this NOC before, I am super nervous about that.

If your professor wrote letter in the specified format it should be fine. Means he explicitly mentioned
number of hours per week, salary and main responsibilities (in the same way they are mentioned in
NOC 4012).

How much experience that you mentioned ? How much points you calculated by yourself ?

In my case I have attached to RA experiences.
