Yes of course. I will do that.

One of my PhD friends received her application package yesterday - Dec 11th - returned by CIO. This might be a signal that CIO is assessing the eligibility of FSW applicants. Hopefully, they are also sending out passport requests. Finger crossed!!

What do you mean? If your friend got her application package back from CIO, this means their application was returned due to incompleteness!

CIO does a partial assessment, but CPC Ottawa makes the final decision for eligibility.

Sorry for the confusion. I thought CIO is responsible for all the processes. If returning the package and final decision are made separately by two orgs, what happens to my friend signals nothing here. Thanks for the clarification~

How long CPC-Ottawa taking to respond to clint's emails? Thanks in advance...

Hi Friends,

Does anyone know the last date of CC charge or application return in Phd stream ?

The two emails I sent recently were replied in 9 and 11 days!

Hi pepe84,

:)

PS- links redirect via an ad page. adblock plus comes handy here.

Hey guys, I keep exploring my GCMS notes, lol. If you look carefully at the SECURITY FIELDS, I know many of us have these fields in blank. However, it's not actually blank. There was something there specially next to: UPDATED DATE, STATUS, VALIDITY DATE.

Check it carefully and let me know if it seems like the info was there but it was erased or whited out!

Thanks.

Hey folks,

Does anyone know the minimum validity period our passports must have when requested by CPC-Ottawa?

Any links would be appreciated!

Thanks,

;D
hi pepe84,

"All passports should be valid for at least 12 months from the date of your medical examinations"
from here-

Thanks, my passport will expire on Dec 2015. Hopefully I will get PPR at least 6 months before it expires!

Dont worry pepe84. we will be getting PPR at least in January. I am sure they won't lag them more than that.

Is it OK to contact CPC-O about when can we expect a decision on our application?

Guys,

The field SECURITY is not actually in blank. I think they don't want us to know what's going on in there.

I found these posts about the difference between security and criminality:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/can-anyone-please-explain-the-difference-between-criminality-and-security-t152965.0.html

I also found this, which is more official. http://www.oag-bvg.gc.ca/internet/English/parl_oag_201111_02_e_35934.html#hd5h

Security is handled by CBSA, they have a database with all terrorists around the world. CIC has a memorandum of understanding with CBSA to screen all PR applicants very often while our application is in progress. It means more than twice per month!
