I got doc request (field of study, supervisor contact details, CV and publications) email yesterday.
Have a question regarding the field of study and supervisor contact details.
Do I need an official letter from supervisor/university to show my field of study and my supervisor contact information?

You don't need any official letter.

Under the new rules, newcomers must reside in Canada for four out of six years to be eligible to apply for citizenship and must show proof that they’ve filed income taxes during that period.

You don't need but it is safer to get such an official letter if you can. I remember a case in this forum; he was rejected because he was not awarded points for his education and when he complained through MP, CIC told him that his PhD info was not official.

Just want to expand a bit on the new rules, especially the bit that I think will impact most of us, who applied under the PhD stream. One of the proposed changes to the citizenship rules would be that non-PR days will no longer be counted towards citizenship. This will set a lot of us, who are planning to apply for citizenship, by at least two years.

Get reset. Ii like they never lived here.

Hi All,

I know my question has been asked before but I could not find the answer in the posts. I have received the "positive eligibility.." e-mail (under PhD stream) and I am trying to apply for OHIP card. Service Ontario says that they don't accept federal skill worker applications. Does anyone know if there is a way to appeal this? Has anyone else had similar issues? Thanks :)

Hello,

I am a newbie here. I am in the third year of my PhD program. I am preparing my materials for the FSW PhD stream now. I have several questions. Could you help me please?

First my supervisor does not know what to write in the reference letter. Me neither. Does anyone have a template? or where can I find a template?

Second, I had my master in Canada. Do I still need an ECA report for my undergrad study?

I plan to submit my application after May 4, 2014, because once the cap is reached this year, my materials will be returned by them instead of kept for next year. Is my understanding correct?

Thank you very much!

We will see. If I did not receive any e-mails from Ottawa till the end of this month I will send them an inquiry e-mail.
Do you receive these e-mails from <OttPilot-Immigration@cic.gc.ca> ? I just want to check my spam ?
