Congratulations!! Nashed and Kuzey for the great news. The good thing is that the processing is still moving even after their ongoing strike. Good luck guys and also thanks for ur contributions in the forum.

Hello, I hope someone on this forum could help me with my question. I recently applied under the phD stream but got rejected because (judging from my rejection letter) the wording of my reference letter was not quite right. I wonder anyone knows if it is possible to ask CIC to return my application package. The reason is that I have decided to apply under PNP now that I finished my phd program and I would need my notarized birth certificate and no-criminal-record certificate again. Or I would just have to get new copies for my application? Thanks very much!

Hi:

I am new to this forum and have found this forum very useful for PhD applicants.
I have recently received my GCMS and as per the notes from SL (May 12, 2013) , I have received 77 points and he/she has recommended me pass. Though they did not consider my TA/RA exp letter. I sent my updated letter after may 18.
In my GCMS notes, in the Criminality section my status is:
Type: RCMP Screening
Status: Finger prints Required

My wife's status is blanked. I need your advise here. Should I do RCMP Finger print for both myself and my wife and sent to CIC proactively ? or should I wait CIC for a request. Has anyone this forum faced this situation. Your help will be highly appreciated.

By the way my time line is as follows:

Application reached CIC: Nov 10, 2012
PER: Jan 13, 2013
Document request March 01, 2013

Thanks

That is great, so you'll get your medical request very soon! SL*** didn't consider your updated letter because it was received after the assessment, the next assessment will be done by FA***, he will consider it for sure. However, you do not need it as you got 77 without it.
According to your wife info, it happens always with applicants due to privacy concerns, the next time you order your GCMS notes attach a consent from her.
If you are making a request on behalf of someone else, you must include consent to release their information. The consent must be signed and dated by the person authorizing the disclosure of his/her information.
I am not sure about sending the RCMP proactively, but many applicants sent their PCC proactively and it worked. IMO it wouldn't hurt to send them, it may make the process faster.
Would you please post the missing information in your timeline?

Sorry for your rejection, but unfortunately many of us rejected due to this ground. I don't think they will return your submitted documents, at least they didn't return mine and haven't heard from others. If you submitted your IELTS in that case in your next application (if your IELTS results still vaild) you could write a cover letter that you already submitted your IELTS results to CIC. Good luck.

passport is on the way back now.

Thanks Kazi :D

Hello All,
I am a new member of this forum. I am a 3rd year PhD student here in Canada. I wanted to apply PR under PhD stream. I am eligible to apply except I don't have enough funds in my Bank (I think we must have 11xxx cad for almost a year in applicant's own account after submitting application). From Sept-2013, I am going for an intern ship. After completion, end of Dec-2013, I am very hopeful to have > 12K. Now my question is should I wait 6 months more from the day I have 12K or I can apply right after I manage to gather 12K.

Your suggestion and experience will be highly appreciated.

I think from the day when you have gathered around 12k, then you should apply and provide six months bank statements along with your application. This will proof them how you accumulate the proof of funds and you should be fine. Good luck.

Today sent an e-mail to Ottawa office regarding the status of my application, surprised got the reply within 2 hrs (after hrs at 5.38pm). And their reply was this....:(

Dear applicant,

In response to your email, your application is currently in queue for review by an officer.

No action is needed from your part, at this present time.

You will be contacted should further information be required or regarding the next steps in your file.

nd interestingly it was from RK. Don't know how long more have to wait :((
