I checked her letter again, and I think the job descriptions were indeed missing the keyword: "assist". If (a big if) I have time tonight, I'll double check reference letters of rejected applications, and see if these letters contain 'assist' in one way or another. Not all accepted experience letters seem to have the word 'assist' as one of the job descriptions, but those rejected seem to always miss it. Leading statement, I think, is the most important in evaluation of job description, and I hope those who have reapplied have this important keyword on their letters.

Conspiracy theory here, but I have a feeling they were being this nit-picky on letters so they can collect as much revenue as possible from rejected applications (I bet the majority of rejected applicants re-apply, hence, more money for the government). What these people don't seem to understand is, most applicants won't mind paying even double the application fees, if it means applications would have much much faster processing times, and they would be evaluated fairly and consistently. What they don't seem to understand is, a lot of applicants too have a life, and a lot of them have their lives in 'pause mode' during processing.

Seriously, I don't mind them rejecting hardcore criminals, but these job description rejections seem super arbitrary, and if they think the job descriptions are lacking 'leading statement and substantial main duties', the applicants should be asked to explain more rather than having them wait 1+ year only to be rejected. If their time is valuable, increase the application fee by 20 dollars so their extra 15 minutes to re-evaluate an application (should there be something missing) can be compensated. Imagine the extra revenues, and imagine how much happier applicants would be. If only I was the immigartion minister...
This is an amazing idea Asbereth, I totally agree with you rejecting hardcore criminals or rejecting the applicants who really doesn't meet the criteria (after a fair enough evaluation process) will be undoubtedly acceptable by everyone in this forum. I don't understand one simple thing, An applicant who has completed two yrs phd will definitely have one yr experience from RA and TA, and these....fxxxxng ppl knows that every phd student in Canada is paying off for their Research and Teaching assistantship........then why these fxxxxing drama. This is simply insane, I am waiting to get my PR so that my wife can come here, after getting married i have to back to resume my study and she is all alone there. And i am so sure lot of fellows here are suffering like me in different way. .....sorry fellows i just went bit mad by seeing all those sad ppl, who knows i could be in that position tomorrow :(

I have tried already nd she was rejected for couple of times, the reason they said she didn't have strong tie which would prove that she will back from Canada. Man I am getting sick of these sxxxxs. Thanks though Anjuku.

My wife came on as a visitor, then she applied on a work permit once she arrived Canada. It is so easy to get an open work permit as the husband has a valid study permit!

Received a request for police certificate today. Though didn't expect it so quickly, got to apply for it asap.

It seems they gather all the required documents earlier for the new cap, the document requests for some applicants were 2 to 4 weeks after getting the PER!

BTW, which department sent you the request? You can find it in the signature, something like FA01772.

Today, I received proof of fund request via email for my first application. Does this mean they approved my work experience letters?

Did you submit your PCC with the first application? As a result, they didn't send you a PCC request also?

Hi all,

What a great day it is today! :) I have just received request for medical examination AND for right of permanent residence fee payment (this latter request is odd, I think, for this stage. Isn't it?)! ECAS still shows "In Process" though - no change.

Dear admin - please, update my status in the spreadsheet.

FYI: Previously, I received request for proof of funds on April 8th. On May 2nd, I submitted the letter from the bank, account statements for six months, as well as additional supporting documentation (my job offer, LMO and work permit). And, today, May 10th, I got meds.

Cheers to all! ;D

Congrats! The latter request is indeed weird... I am guessing that you passed all except for medical exam. Once they receive your medical results, you will get passport request soon.

Congrats :) !!!! Pay off the RPRF fee as soon as possible too. It looks like COPR and visa issuance depends on whether or not this fee has been paid.

Good news. Have you originally submitted one with your application ?
