I am among the first batch of 2012-13 applicants. Got PER on 7th Jan, 2013. My email does include "final" after positive.
And doesn't include the fine print line of visa office making the final selection. So, it is a very new change, maybe even a February one.

What about Feb2004 and mapleisland ?

There will be no 5 points for your PhD studies in Canada. Do not count on it at all.

He is not asking about adaptability, he asking about points for education.

I'm here! I sent them my job offer (assistant professor) along with a letter from HR and a letter giving facts/proofs showing that I have been economically established (exact words used in their operating manual and a suggestion of a lawyer friend) in Canada. I just sent it so I do not expect an answer for at least 1 week.
However I would advise you to send your bank statement. The job offer has probably less than 50% of working in my opinion.
I'll keep you posted

Thank you very much. may I have your email or so?

Hello everyone,
I have applied for PR under PhD stream in Feb. 2012. I just got a document request email from CIC. One of the documents they asked for is "The field of study for your doctoral program". I was wondering if I need to explain the progress of my research from the beginning in details, or it is just a one line answer.

Thanks

Hi Sina, maybe if you share the exact wording of your email, we can help you further? Also it would be helpful for others if you share your full timeline :)

If I were you, I would provide them with some details such as what your field is, what you have done so far and plan to do in the future, and list your publications . It will never hurt. BTW, which day in Feb you applied?

To Shabnam_m:

Sorry, I just saw your message. I am new to forum & apparently cannot send personal messages.
The original PCC was from the time I came to Canada for the first time. Since it was old, I was expecting that they would ask for a new one so I applied for a new PCC while the embassy was open. I guess they accepted my new PCC as they issued my medical request a few days after my documents were received by Ottawa.
You can apply for a new PCC if you send your fingerprints+ other necessary documents to the foreign ministry of Iran.

I submitted the application on Jan. 29 2012, and got the PER on Mar. 8, 2012. Recently I was requested (on Feb. 11, 3013) for the proof of funds and Police certificate from home country.

For the bank statement, I explained some transaction of large amount, e.g., over 10k. Do I have to explain every transaction during 6 months? For instance, I deposit my wife's income for her small business each week, and do I have to explain what's the source of it (I didn't explain this on the cover letter submitted earlier)? Experienced applicants help me on this pls! Thank you in advance.

Hi Masoud,

I faced the same problem about proof of fund. May I have your email address and ask some question?

Regards,
Ali

seems CIC wants you to clarify where does the " large deposits " come from. it would be better if you could provide that info as well

GOOD LUCK!

Hum. this is tricky. Is her business legal? If so, I think it is ok.

Hi Masoud,

May I have your email address? I have the same problem you had about the proof of fund. I want to talk to you about it.
