Hey Guys, Good news for Iranian. I got my medical request the other day. I was asked to send the exact same docs (Bank history, PhD info, ...). In the past six months I even sometimes had 4k, but the amount was increasing, no large deposits. I showed them 11500~. So no need to worry.

Good luck all.
And this is my timeline:

Application received: 21 Dec
PER: 5 March
Doc Request: 4 Jan
Med request: 22 Jan
No:1
Nationality: Iranian
i just wanted to clarify something...i assume you got the document request 4 jan 2012 and not 2013 right?..so you got the MR a year after submitting the additional documents?

Hamoon got PER an March 2012, so it seems Jan 2013 is the time of doc request!

Congrats! So it takes only 18 days or much less (because of the mailing time and other things) to change to Medical request ?

oh ya..i guess i missed that ;D...so just 18 days inbetween....that's fast!!..well he applied dec 2011...so i guess since they made him wait so long they speeded up on things!..because most 2011 applicants already got their visas...

I was trying to find the info about CAIPS in the earlier posts...but there are too many...And I just got lost...

Anyways, I'd really appreciate it if someone can help me clarify the following questions:

1. Is it the IMM5563E form that I have to use?
2. Section A-1:I can choose "Privacy Act" and request it for free, correct?
3. Section B-Since I have a Canadian mailing address, I'd assume that I do not need to provide any proof for question B-1, right?
4. Section C-I should choose 4C)-Immigration file: PR, correct?

Thanks in advance!

well if you check the timeline the 2011 applicants more or less got requested additional documents in may/june 2012...and if you don't count the rejected cases, then i think 4 of the remaining already got visas...so i think hamoon was requested documents late but then they speeded up the process for him since hisMR came in a record 18 days!!

Hey Dude , I have a question. I have the similar situation, I have bank account but I have not borrowed money. But I received some large amount from my family sometimes. Do you think that providing the proof that I received this money from my family as family support is enough? or Do you think that is gonna be a problem?

Honestly, I have new information about that, what I know is that it seems that they are not as picky as we thought. Because I heard some people saying that you should have had all the money for six months. In your case I guess it would be great to get a letter (formal one) from your family mentioning that they have transferred that money to you.

HI Hamoon

First of all congrats dude :) happy for you :)
I have couple of questions and would be grateful if you could help me out:
Did they awarded you the 5 point of adaptability? if yes what was the reason (2 years of being phd student or what?)
I also wanted to know if you provided them RA/TA work experience, if yes, was that counted?

Tnx

OK. I received some messages on the inbox from my Iranian friends. Just to make some clarifications so that It can be useful to everyone:

In my initial application I sent them an old PCC (2 years old) and wrote them a letter that I will send them an updated one whenever I receive them. Last year I went to Iran and got a new PCC. After I got the PER I sent the new PCC to Buffalo (It was the visa office at the time). Apparently Buffalo has forwarded that to Ottawa so they didn't ask me for another PCC.

Before receiving the doc request I was worried about the PCC requirement, so I asked my family back home and they were able to get one for me. Here is the process for someone in Tehran, I have to use the Farsi words here:

First you have to have a copy of your old PCC. Go to the "Daadsaraaye sejele keifari", there you have to talk to the "Namaayandeye Daadsetan". He will see your PCC and you will explain the situation. Then he will write a letter to "Agaahi". You then have to visit the "Edaareye tashkhise hoviate agaahi". They receive the letter and give you an updated PCC but without the signature. Then you have to take that back to the "Namayandeye dadsetan" and he will sign and stamp it for you. That's about it.

Obviously I didn't use the PCC because they didn't ask me one.
