That's a good question. I hope there's an answer but alas I am just as lost as you are.

It is either that or they are still sorting new processes out and perhaps ramping up resources (some new folks might take time to learn) too for the new changes.

new regulations do not apply for previous cases so I don't think it is the case. I think they should have taken an year off instead of just 6 months. They will be totally unable to process all the applications until the new streams open again.

I suggest a surge of people sending questions to @kenneyjason at twitter. I asked him what happened to our applications after buffalo closed. Try asking him if we are given less priority due to the backlog.

TRT_Flynn which province are you in? I suppose you are the primary applicant and your wife isn't. So she could still go ahead and apply for PR under PNP - but would you need to retract your application for this stream then?

I am in ON. Not certain if need or not, but I am pretty sure that they will not refund me. So even I can do this, extra 2k is AN amount I should consider seriously. Moreover, I still have a tiny little hope on their processing speed in fall and winter.
