Hi tyrus, if i'm not mistaken, didn't Ejamal already get his medical request?...if so, do they do background checks after medicals???...that's weird..i thought it was the other way around ::)...but if this is the case, why are they taking so long to ask for medicals??????...i was hoping that it would be because they are doing all those background checks!!

Yep. I thought about that too. This what the told me: Security not started and Criminality In progress. So no. they don't seem to complete the background testing before medical like we thought.

Hi TyrusX,

Thanks so much for your reply. I originally planned for FSW-Ph.D. because I thought that the stream will be quick (decision completed in one year or so).

I believe that your suggestion of applying for Ontario PNP may be good... However, somehow I got the impression that PNP process is very subjective, depending on the opinions of the officer. Therefore, I somewhat hesitate, as I have left Canada after I graduated from my Ph.D. (I will need to justify why I did not stay in Canada after I graduated, because they want applicants with an intention to live and stay permanently in Ontario.)

I understand that everyone's worrying their applications. Immigration application can be a tiring process. I feel the same. I wish everyone got their application approved.

Specialmary

Question: Could you please clarify me finally Ottawa will give us 5 points adaptability (for two years study) or not? Is there any case which was not qualified without 5 points and CIO already accepted and Ottawa confirmed that too.

:(That is so disappointing. Let's hope they did not take more than 2 years to process our cases.

Ottawa is not giving 5 points of adaptability. People appealed by got rejected again.

Expect the cap to be reached very soon as Fall Semester starts.

Hi, I am a newbie here. The cap has reached to 853, and we believe many students will submit their application in September when the new semester begins. We are in a rush, and want to submit the applciation very soon. But we have just one question. We got married in late July, however, it takes more than three months to obtain the marriage certificate :o Could we submit our application now with Record of Solemnization of Marriage INSTEAD of Marriage Certificate and explain in the cover letter that we will submit the marriage certificate as soon as we get it. Does anyone have experience like this? Thanks!

Hi Webspherguy,
since we both have pretty much the same timeline, i was wondering if you are able to check your ecas status??...i still can't access mine >:(

Hi Anjuku,

Just so you know I checked my ecas status and its showing. I presume it has been available all this while except that I can't see anything because for my "Surname/ Family Name", they actually entered my whole full name as it. Perhaps you should try that for yours.

As expected, mine is showing "In Process" too... Still too early.

Hi saintezym,

Did u guys get married in Canada? If yes, it normally just takes weeks (less than a month) to get the marriage certificates in Canada.

thanks god that they finally updated the cap!!! My application reached sydney by August 10th. Finger cross that nothing gone wrong!!

Yes, we got married in Ontario. We already applied for the marriage certificate. But apparently the registration is still under process and they say we should wait for 10 weeks, which would be mid-Oct, to request for status again. It takes so long! In considering the growing cap number, we can not afford waiting till Oct. So we want to send our Record of Solemnization of Marriage and attached a cover letter explaining that the marriage certificate will come along as long as we receive it.

Hi All,

I am in PhD and my two years will be completed by December 2012. Is there any chance that CIC will renew/re-start the cap from November? or they will just close the PhD category (I hope not)?

Thanks,
