Oh, Thanks, dude for the reply. well, how long did it take for you to appeal their decision? :)

Hey Guys,

Just a suggestion here. I went through the whole appeal process for OHIP. They checked my status with the CIC and rejected my appeal for reconsideration, because I was not at the stage eligible for OHIP. I guessed it was because I applied for OHIP a month after I got the PER email.

So for you guys already being requested for bank statement or others, you really should try applying for OHIP.

However, for those newbies who just received the PER emails, it might be wise to wait for a while.

Based on what is there in the guide and the CIC Web site, and if my understanding is correct, notarization is only required for translated documents.

thanks for the information

I found one of my previous work experiences fall under unit group NOC 4021. Is this a Level A or B job? I believe I can use this to fulfill the one year work experience requirement. Just want to check with you guys. Thanks.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS? THANKS

I will not be eligible to apply till September of 2013. I was to know if all they need is 1000 PhD applications or if it is revolving. That is, will there be another 1,000 spots starting November, 2012?

Thanks a lot in anticipation of your response.

Do you mean you had your work experience written in your native language although it was not a transnational company?

Officially the answer is yes. But they may very well cancel the stream all together or put it on hold as they did with the main FSW stream. Thing is, you should not worry to much, as there are other ways to apply for citizenship. After you graduate, for example, with Canadian work experience, you can apply in the CEC.

Hi megha,
Yes, you can use Canadian ID. I used Canadian ID as well and got positive review.

Hello guys,
I have a question about National ID. Does anyone know if it is mandatory? I am from Bangladesh, and do not have any national ID with me. Worst thing is I can not get one while I am abroad.

What Canadian ID can be used in lieu of National ID?

I just used the Nova Scotia provincial ID and not my countries simply because the entry for National ID requires expiry date of the ID card which my country doesn't have - but Nova Scotia's provincial ID does.

Thank you guys. I neither have driver's licence nor provincial ID. I called service Ontario only to know that it takes about 4-6 weeks to get provincial photo ID.

Is there anyone in this forum who used Canadian SIN card? or even got PER without submitting National Identity Document?

It took around five to six weeks. By the way, my wife was granted OHIP just today.

Hi aelatar,

I do really appreciate sharing your "OHIP" fighting process and I am glad you finally got it. Would you please let us know if your university change your international status to domestic after getting your PER ? If not, did you try again (to waive your tuition fee) after getting your OHIP ?
Thaks and good luck :)

congratulation, I am wondering how you first applied for OHIP? I went to service ontario center 3 times and they just kept saying they need the hard copy from immigration office. So I can not even apply for it the reception person always sent me back home with a rude manner that you have to wait for an official letter. I would thank you if you describe the complete process. Which center did you go?
