So CPP-O is asking some applicants for chequing and saving account history. Good to know and to be prepared as early as possible. I should look for someone to lend me money.

This is my first post. My application has just reached CIO today July 3rd, 2012. It includes 2 persons and my work experience as RA/TA and other. I am from Egypt.

if you do that, you will have to keep the money for a while, or it would be too obvious for them that you borrowed money from someone. Didn't you submit enough proof of funding with your application?

yeah, I submitted enough proof of funding with my application, however, I know that Canadian Embassy in Egypt always asks for account history. So it will be very ordinary if the CPP-O asks for both saving and chequing account history, as well.

Have you already attached your bank statement with your application? Did you leave Canada for long time or long vacation so CPP-O wants to make sure you was doing grocery and spending money using your chequing account in Canada? What could be the reason CPP-O is asking you for account history?

Yes, this is what I understand, it is getting worst.

I sent bank statements (not transaction history, only a statement showing the balances on my accounts) with my documents. I clearly remember that the Document Checklist did not ask for account history. Then three weeks ago I got an email asking for the balances on all my accounts plus account history "for my saving accounts" which I provided. I had enough money in the saving account. Now today this email came asking for account history of Chequing accounts.
For the other people who haven't heard anything from Ottawa yet, I think best thing to do is what TsyruX suggested. Put some money in your bank accounts as soon as possible (in case you already don't have it sitting there for the past six months). If they ask for proof of funds, the money must have been in your account for a while. Send them anything you can, not just what they ask for.

I don't think you need a Canadian master's degree to apply for a PhD here. A lot of people in this forum obtained their master's in other countries. You just need to apply according to the requirements on each university's website.

thnx 4 reply...never mind i am not sure about the whole procedure of PhD..in their website FSW is clearly mentioned but it is not so clear...
If you don't mind can anybody let me know the detail steps of apply process to PhD program ?? I have completed my Master's in Zoology in 2003...what is appropriate for me.. for prepare myself as PhD applicant what course should I apply as mentioned above??

You have to choose an university and fulfill their requirement. This it not the thread for you, there is a section for international students. This is the forum for PhD Students that applied for PR because they already been students for at least 2 years. So if you are looking into this, it will take you at least 3 years for you to apply in this stream. Be aware that there is no way to affirm this stream will still exist by them.

Ottawa has requested my Medical Examination. It is a good sign that they are still working on PhD-Stream applications :)
Congrats!!!
I noticed you had been asked to submit your police certificate. I wonder if you had already submitted it with your package. If yes, why they asked for it again?

Thanks. They requested a police certificate for my wife (not mine) since she came to Canada recently.
I didn't submit my Canadian police record with my application (since we don't have to).

It's still the same: "In progress" :)
