Well, I think Tsyrux was right about Iranians having to submit the six month account activity. I got the letter today.

"This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:

Proof of funds for yourself. Please provide evidence of funds which are completely available, transferrable and unencumbered by debt or other obligations. Please provide a statement for all your accounts along with the account activity for the past six months for your savings account. This must be received at this office by: 08/03/2012"

Lets see, I haven't got anything yet. I suspect I may receive something like that tomorrow or my medical requests.
Do get disappointed ok? Be pragmatic and just do what they ask, and don't take it personally.

So we know that they've gotten to applicants as far as March 13, but applicants that got their PER back on early March have not yet gotten their medicals yet. Maybe they have shorter BF'D than 3 months for the Iranian applicants (last week, crazyleader with a PER date of March 8, got similar emails from the CIC). I think by the end of the week, some of the early March PER's would get their medicals. TyrusX, keep us updated, because I think you'll be among the next ones to receive medicals. It's good to know that things are rolling with Ottawa :)

Hi Shomo, it's always good to hear anything from them (as long as it is not rejection ) :) Just try to do your best with their request. Hopefully you have enough money in your bank account? Let us know what you will end up doing, and good luck.

Hi tahhir, just give it some time. I think your timeline can still be considered normal, only that it's a bit longer than most people have experienced lately (taking 2 weeks to get cashed). If everything is fine, I'm sure you'll get your PER within 2 to 3 weeks (unless they significantly restructure stuff again). After PER, then it will be a long wait until medicals (and you won't hear anything in between it seems).

Thanks for replying and giving some encouraging comments.

I suspect that BF'D occurs actually a few days before they get in touch with us. This would allow them time to review the application.

I am not disappointed. Actually I agree with asbereth that any news is good news if it is not rejection :) Also I am still so happy that our files are out of Buffalo and we don't have to wait for two years that even bad news do not upset me as much as they used to.
Anyway, I just checked and for two people we need $13,837. I have had about 9000 in my account for the past four and a half mount and I have added to it every now and then, so now I have something about $13700 in my saving account. Do you think I should add like 1000 to it and send the account activity right away or is it better to wait for a while? I prefer to send it sooner and get it over with. On the other hand I don't like a rejection because of something stupid like this.

Just out of curiosity, I actually did call them (asking them about the closure of Buffalo, whether to resend corrections, and stuff), and they did told me that my application had been sent to Ottawa, and that I did not need to resend the correction that I have already sent to Buffalo. They told me they didn't know if it has been received by Ottawa though. I'm not sure if it means that they have finally gotten to sending March PER applicants. I guess it would depend on whether they sent the applications to Ottawa as soon as PER was issued, or only after a while.

There are three possibilities, either our files on the way to Ottawa, or ready in Buffalo to be sent to Ottawa, or already in Ottawa.

I guess the most likely case will be the third one. ::)

How much did you have in your bank accounts when you first submitted your application? Other than nationality that's something the other two people in similar situation shared, that is they didn't show ~$14,000 in the first place. is that right?

I showed ~$14000. But I didn't include my account activity report, because it was not asked for in the checklist.

Post your information here and somebody with read/write access will update the spreadsheet.

Nothing so far today guys. If I remember correctly, I got my PER on a Wed, so it should receive something today. However, no requests yet. I did get it on a 7th though, so maybe tomorrow.
