Got my PER today, 30th Apr. But not reflected in ecas as nothing came out of it yet.

Congratulations websphereguy! :) I am happy for you! I was away and just saw your message... A lot of new activity on this thread. Yet, not a single AOR in sight... :(

Tired of wating for the AOR.... Hope that we will get medicals along with the AOR. For some streams, Buffalo VO is doing like that.

Hope that's the same for the new PhD stream under FSW

I've tried to find information about Buffalo, but it seems all people getting something from them are from MI-1, back in 2010!
Seriously, how hard is to connect the ECAS with their internal system, so at least we know what is going on, if our documents are
in the waiting list or stuff. Come on Canada.

Thanks GeoCanadian. I've been looking at Trackitt.com to compare how others who send to Buffalo processing facility fared but its very hard to make a judgement call simply because of too many varying factors. Only thing I can see is that apps send in for 2010 seems to have an average of 4 mths reply btw PER and AOR. However it is 1st AOR and not necessarily 2nd AOR as our immigration tracker in this forum suggest - http://bit.ly/tpvdZa

If 2nd AOR is assumed as 1st AOR, then I would expect that those who got PER in Feb to have earliest response for AOR to be in early June (e.g. folks like jessiezz, ejamal) and those like supergoldenfish, snow_walker and TyrusX to get something towards late June or early July. Folks like me, anjuku, GeoCanadian, etc. that had their PER in April would have something more towards August.

Back then I think they sent their applications to the VO directly. That's why 2 AORs. But yes. I agree with the 4 months thing.

Hi guys,

I got the PER this morning (20120504)!!! :P and indeed, Ph.D. student who has completed two years of study can claim the five points from the adaptability evaluation, so don't be hesitant to claim it. Can anyone tell me what is going to happen after the issuance of PER?

Thanks a lot and I wish the best for all of us through this journey. ;D ;D ;D

Congrats. A long long wait after PER until your documents get to VO and you get AOR.

Thanks for asking, snow_walker.

CIC sent me an email asking for updated letters of employment since my previously submitted letters didn't include my duties and responsibilities. In fact, my former employers' HR refused to specify my duties. The HR were only allowed to confirm my job title, period of employment and salary. Details of my duties must be verified by my former supervisor, who had left the company :(

Anyway, I have sent them a letter to explain that and ask them to re-evaluate my profile. I hope that I will hear back from them soon.

phdapplicant, do u have your job offer letter from the company? if u do, you could provide it as a proof to ur hr or attach it to cic?

I did send my letters of offer, but none of them clearly stated my responsibilities :(

That's the problem. I was lucky enough to know the chief accountant of former company and who knows folks in the HR. So she managed to persuade the HR folks to be very flexible with my letter. Do you know someone personally from HR? Even if you do not know, perhaps you should still try convincing them to put the statement of your responsibilities.

Unfortunately I was unable to persuade them. The best I could do is to ask them write an email explaining the policy, which I mailed to CIC later.
If CIC is still unsatisfied with that, I will not meet the minimum one year requirement. Then the best thing I could hope for is to get my PR application fee refunded ($1100 for me and my spouse).
Finger crossed!
