Ok, my CC got swiped by CIC today, 24 Apr. Finally... Cross my fingers and hope the PER gets through quickly and smoothly.

Btw, just out of curiosity does anyone know if we are needed to hand in our passport anytime (probably towards the tailend of) during the PR application process? I have to renew my visa early next year and my concern is that should the PR application reach a conclusion, and the passport is needed, it may be stuck in Buffalo for visa renewal.

Hi everybody,

I am currently applying for the PR under the Federal skilled worker program. I had my application under the CEC category rejected as I was 200 hours short for the work requirements.
My question is how do you meet the requirements when you are a full-time student, working part-time as a university main instructor. I had 1750 hours and needed 1950 hours. I teach 3 classes at two different universities, have been working/living, studying in Canada for 8 years.

How did you guys do it? Has anybody been in the same situation? Testimonies?

Miracle happens!

I received my NER last month. I appealed that decision few days later, though nobody thought I could reverse that decision, even myself. But today I received my PER from the officer, and the letter said my case had forwarded to the VO office.

I am still confused what this means. Anyway, it's my luck day. I should buy lottery today.

So, there does be an opportunity to reverse the decision. Anyone who has a similar situation could states your requests reasonably and confidently. That may be helpful to decision maker.

Good luck to everyone.

Hopefully, the following procedure won't be that long.

Congrats Mapledream, you should buy lottery. Perhaps a quickpick, Lotto 649 and if you do win the jackpot, perhaps you need not go through the PhD stream :)

Anyday now and the total number of applicants received, will change soon. Its been 558 for slightly more than a week.

Hi utopie, are you currently teaching? For CEC, only work experience from the last two years will be counted, so that's probably why they wouldn't count any earlier work experience, and why you didn't have enough work experience.

If you want to go FSW route, won't it be easier for you to just wait until you have enough hours (1,950 hours) within the last 10 years? Also, make sure that you have at least a period of 1,950 continuous hours within the last 10 years. But if I'm not mistaken, college / university instructor NOC (NOC 4021) is not one of the NOC's accepted for FSW1 eligibility, so your best bet is probably trying to find a permanent job offer. Or if you're currently doing your PhD, then you can probably apply through the new PhD stream.

MapleDream, congratulations :D !!! Anyway, if you don't mind, can you share the wording of your appeal letter? It may be helpful for a lot of people in your situation. Also, did you appeal for your spouse's education, or was it the study adaptability points?

Congratulations MapleDream! I am actually in a similar situation. My application was also rejected due to the very same reason (no 5 points for adaptability, and I have been studying at the PhD program for 3.5 years now). I am appealing. Could you please share the details where did you send your appeal letter? Did you mail or fax it? What was the address/number?

Thank you.

The reason why I appealed the decision is that I had to wait my graduation or retaking the IELTS with a high mark to be qualified to resubmit my application. Either one was a long time wait, and either one would be longer than appealing. What I expected for my appeal was a hopeless hope. And the result is very positive. So, I am luck.

I send email to Centralized Intake Office and insisted I should have the 5 points for adaptability and extracted the related contents from the instruction to prove it.

Actually, I don't know whether they made mistake before or now. It seems a little weird for me.
