TyrusX,

Is there anyway that I can contact the folks up in Sydney to kind of give them a heads up that my app is for PhD stream. I suspect it could be because I did not give any indication that it is for so that they may have put it aside with the other FSW lots?

OMG, you are really a superman! Congrats! Where is my PER ::)

How bout you jackson2209? Did you also put in a cover letter to indicate your app is for PhD stream?

Yes. got my PER in 10 days. only 2 applicants. TA+RA+1 year previous working experience. Be very careful with the letter that was given by your university. Do ask the dean of the graduate studies to sign and seal on your letter saying you have enrolled for ** years PhD, and do enclose your official transcript in your application.

Hi guowei018, I see you got your PER already? Congratulations!!! Can you update us with more information regarding work experience, etc so snow_walker or TyrusX can update the spreadsheet? Also, if I remember correctly, your application got returned earlier, so what did you do to fix the problem? I just thought that this information would be useful for other :) But seriously, getting PER in 10 days is so damn fast :D Some of the applicants with returned applications seemed to receive their PER much much faster (smallkick was another example).

Hi MR_NAWAZ, can you update us your information and timeline (and also nationality, work experience, etc)? Also, if you provided email with your application, most likely they will only have correspondence with you through email (even medical requests).

Anyway, some FSW NDVO applicants with February PER have already gotten their medical requests. Buffalo is so slow :(

Guowei018,

Did you indicate in a cover letter or anywhere in your application package that you're applying for FSW PhD stream?

Hi websphereguy, I don't think I indicated anywhere in the application that it was a PhD stream application. Also, it's not like the PhD stream applications got processed faster than other FSW classes anyway (if anything FSW2 is actually much faster), so there shouldn't be any difference. Maybe your application is a bit less straightforward compared to GeoCanadian's (since you said you had to collect letters of reference from 6 different employers). Anyway, when did your CC get cashed?

Thanks TyrusX! Yes, this was much faster than I could even dream! My application was received on the 28th of March, credit card charged on the 2nd of April and PER showed up in my email today, April 5th! I hope Buffelo office will get its act together and won't make us wait too long...

GeoCanadian, congratulations!!! Getting PER in just 8 days is amazing :D Hopefully all of us would get our AOR's and medical requests soon.

Oh! While we are on the topic of cover letter, what should I mention in a cover letter? I am sending all the required documents. Thanks. And big thanks to all who've replied to my queries in the past :)

Dude, calm down. Just wait a few days. They will figure out. You were probably selected to do extra background checking. :P I told my roommate that I should immigrate to Singapore instead of Canada LOL.

asbereth, I have never in my life wanted my CC to get cashed so much. Nope, it hasn't happen yet. Anyways, thanks for the clearing the air. At least I know there's others out there like me (as in did not provide cover indicating PhD stream) and did get their PER already.

FSW2 is actually the slowest class, due to the number of fake AEO.

Don't worry. You don't say you are applying under PhD stream anywhere in the application form. But You say so in the Document Checklist which you have to put above all your other documents (section 10 of document checklist). So they'll see it for sure.

Can you post the dates? I had to guess them given you PER in 10 days.

I think he put it in his profile (March 19 2012). It seemed like they (the CIO) are processing applications really fast these days.
