Could you tell me your ECAS status is PER or you receive a PER email from CIC? Or both? Thanks.
I just got an email this morning and my ecase status does not change, it is "in process"!

Hi all,

To be included in the tracker file:

I received PER today, 5 Mar 2012.
Category........: FSW3
Visa Office......: Buffalo
App. Filed.......: 22 Dec 2011
Payment Received........: 2 Feb 2012

Now, what's next? How long do you think it will take the visa office to issue AOR letter?

Can I apply for waiving my International Tuition fee now?

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! :)

Congrats and welcome meteor2012!

They will cash your application and then send you an e-mail weeks afterwards confirming that your applications was received. Read the forum. Only two guys got to this point so far.

Thanks Tyrusx,
I read over the forum.
Thanks everybody for sharing your information.

For the purpose of the tracker file: My application was received by CIO on Feb 13th and my CC was charged on March 1st. 2 people are in my application.

Is there any difference between CC and MO in terms of processing time?

Can you even check if your money order has been cashed?

Yes, it is possible to check MO with MO number, but only thru the same branch from which money order is taken. Today also, I checked, but mine is not cashed yet. My aplication reached there on Feb 9. But CC of applications reached there on Feb 13 are charged on March 1 and 2.

Should take another week, at least.

I see. It does seem to make sense that it would be a lot faster if you use credit card versus money order (which was the reason why a lot of folks decided to use credit card, though you're running the risk that the charge doesn't go through, and your application gets returned. Money order is a lot safer in that sense). I don't know. Can anybody confirm this? Also, the fact that you have 4 applicants probably affect things as well.

Thanks asbereth & TyrusX. Let's wait and see. That is the only option. :(

I think phdapplicant used money order as well, and it seems that he got cashed a couple of days late compared to some other applicants that had their applications received around the same time. We will see.

I hope so. I'm about to have a heart attack. I invited some friend of mine to participate at this forum. But it seems they haven't yet. It is funny how some people just don't care about knowing how the process of their visas is going to be. I wish I could be this relaxed.

+1

btw, congrats to Dani and meteor... In this stream, processing time is not same for different people!

anyone here applied for PR in a different stream earlier and have the "in process" ECAS status for that application? If so, how will the new application affect that? or will they be processed in parallel?

I used MO and didn't really feel much delay compared to others! I think the timing depends on too many factors and the type of payment is only one of them! ;)
