They haven't started on security checks yet whatsoever. But one thing to note though is that they have an obligation to perform these checks within a year's time from the time that they created your application in their system - which is essentially the date they started processing your app.

I also submitted my application on around Oct. 2012 that reached the gap. So all the application have been returned? I still dont receive the returned package. What is CIC doing!!!!

So how can we do now if the files were returned? resubmit them after May 2013? pls let me know. Thank you.

You should expect it very soon, my application reached CIO first time on Oct. 1 and was mailed back to me on Dec 21.
I sent the CIO an e-mail on Dec. 4 asking about the status of my application, and here is the e-mail I just got from them this morning :) :)

What I actually did when I received my application was that I updated necessary forms and documents and mailed it again to them on Dec. 24. It reached CIO on Dec. 31.

why we should do that? i am so confusing..... if they have that package, why they should be returned......how can i contact you? Can i call you for some further information? I am now quite busy with some other works and lost update on the forum for long.....thank you so much.

Calm down, this has happened to many other members here, you are not the first one.
This is thier regulations, although it seems illogical but we have to follow it. It is not a big deal, it is all about lost time.

You just need to update some forms and some documents like the bank statement, you don't even need to update documents like police certificates. you may start doing that even before receiving your application to be ready to mail it back again as soon as you get it.

Thank you. The NOC has been changed for us not not? do i need to update these experience? Do i must update the bank statement? because my bank statement
is from China that need long time to have it. What is other information do i need to update? Thank you.

Same here resend everything on Dec. 24th they received it on Dec. 31.
