31. Due yesterday but it seems they got the file out in November 27.

TyrusX, it sounds good that you got 72 points (though the due dates of March or May 13 indeed spell nightmare x( ) . Hopefully these points are the actual number of points of the final assessment criteria from Ottawa rather than the points that got assigned by Sydney (since these numbers can easily be overridden by Ottawa for whatever reasons).

I got my CAIPS today, I'm posting the relevant parts below, January people should have a similar status:

Eligibility: Not Started (?)
Security: Not Started
Criminality: In Progress
Office: CPP Ottawa

Got 72 points(4 years of Work XP), HOWEVER I WAS NOT AWARDED ANY ADAPTABILITY POINTS.

Security Due Date: March 07 (1 year after PER)

RCMP Screening: No Reportable Trace ( Updated in May 28)

Seems my application didn't actually get to go to Buffalo at all, went directly to CPP Ottawa.
There is a extra notice on the last page referent to my medical condition, which means that they actually take notice of everything, since I actually wrote that by hand.

Other than that it seems my file hasn't been touched upon since Mid June.

So 100% Ottawa will not give us 5 points adaptability for 2 years study, right?

It seems so, but I can say for sure. It is hard to affirm that without more people getting that information from the GCMS notes. Also, as asbereth said, I think my score so far is only from CIC.

Also, I'm going away for Christmas for a few days. So happy holidays for everyone.

Thanks, Is there anybody who applied recently and got his/her PER by these 5 points? in the other words without these 5points he couldn't reach 67.

Maybe not recently, but if you take a look at the spreadsheet, those with three asterisks have their NER reverted to PER, and most of them got NER because they couldn't reach 67 without these 5 adaptability points (they then appealed and received favorable decisions from the CIO).

I think MapleDream, hsn893, Aaron2012, kg,jadu, and morena34 (let me know if I miss anybody) had their NER reverted to PER because of the recalculation of the 5 adaptability points (wouldn't reach 67 without these 5 points), though I think the experience of Dani1982 probably has probably deterred a lot of people from applying recently, unless they actually have more than 67 points without needing these 5 previous adaptability points.

It is not yet certain how Ottawa would react to these appeals. Nobody (none of the persons I mentioned above) in this situation has heard anything back from Ottawa, and Dani1982 got his CIO PER without needing the 5 adaptability points (and Ottawa rejected him due to some work experience issues).

I too got my GCMS notes yesterday. I got points for 3 years TA/RA experience, but they did not count my previous experience (of 5 years) from my home country. Also, no points were awarded for previous study in Canada. So, I guess, they won't give any adaptability points for our current study in Canada.

In my file it is clearly mentioned that "Eligibility: Not started". So I guess, the points were given from CIO.

I have a problem with my RCMP screening. It is mentioned as "Fingerprints required". But for my spouse, it is given that "No reportable trace". I don't know why it is. Can I do this check at RCMP now itself? Or do I need to wait for the CIC letter regarding this? Any ideas????

Did you provide all reference letters and information as required for your home country work experience? It's strange that it wouldn't count. TyrusX got all his foreign work experience counted.

I suppose it would be interesting if any of the people who appealed request for CAIPS, and see how many points they got assigned. If you got passed Sydney without needing any adaptability points, then the only thing that may still go wrong with the point calculation is the work experience. Hopefully Ottawa officers are reasonable...

Yes, I submitted all the relevant documents for my previous work experience too. But no points for that!!!!

Without the adaptability points, I have 74 points. I got points from my spouse though. So, hopefully, it will not be a problem at Ottawa.

really upset to know before Christmas that Ottwa will not give applicants like me 5pts for adaptability. now i am dead meat.
so i better throw my fantasy away and think about what to do in my next maybe last academic year.

you might be eligible to get these adaptability points next year when the new regulation is going to be effective

I know it may not be related to us, but I thought it is worth to know.
FYI, this just in
New Federal Skilled Worker Program to accept applications beginning May 4, 2013
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2012/2012-12-19.asp?utm_source=bitly-eng&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=generic

but do note the statements:

"It is important to note that these changes will not apply to people who have applied to the FSWP prior to May 4, 2013 with a qualifying arranged job offer or under the Ph.D. stream."

and

"As recently announced, due to the actions taken over the past months, new applications under the FSWP will be processed in a few months, rather than a few years. In order to ensure fast processing times and to avoid backlogs, the new FSWP will accept a fixed number of applications each year."

So folks, with just a wee bit of patience and faith, I am pretty sure things will turn out right for those who already have their PER and are waiting for further action.

mib26, don't lose hope yet. The reason why, I think, the report did not show TyrusX as having the 5 adaptability points was I think because Sydney never awarded him (and all other applicants before April '12 if I'm not mistaken) to begin with.

If you (or anybody that has successfully appealed CIO's decision), however, ordered your CAIPS, I am sure the report will show more than 67 points, with the adaptability points awarded as well (since you wouldn't have gotten PER if the CIO did not think you could pass the 67 point threshold). The question is, how Ottawa will deal with the 5 points that got awarded by Sydney, since we have not had anybody in this situation yet. Though it's a slim chance, let's keep hoping for the best (in the mean time, you can probably start preparing documents for a new application).

Check operational bulletin board link for CIC http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/index.asp
I am pretty sure it will be updated in the few days / week with the new changes.

Also, you can take a new IELTS exam and update your application. If you get the full language score (16) you won't need adabtability points.
