Hi guys,

This is my first time to post here. I just want to share my situation. Maybe it is helpful for others.

PhD stream, Aug. 17 reached CIO, no feedback so far, working experience includes only TA and RA.

I am not sure if anything is wrong.

I guess PhD stream has got very less priority in CIC's processing ... :/

Yes. Unfortunatelly for us, CPO is taking care of MI-1 Application that were submitted around May 2010.
I would say another year to go for us:(

I'm not quite sure about the original purpose of introducing this PhD stream.... But if it was to attract/retain Canadian trained graduate students at home, then how on earth this slow processing is serving that purpose? If Canada is to compete/progress in research, then there has to be some incentives. Otherwise Canadian PhD's will shoot to USA job market.

Have anyone been able to get fees reduction with PER outside of Ontario?
I don't think any Universities outside of Ontario are accepting PER.
If you have any info, please post it. A reduction in fees would make a difference for me.
Thanks,
RGB

Seriously, another year? But knowing it is slow, kind of , makes me feel a little comfortable, at least, being slower is better than losing my application package. It happened to one of my colleagues.

I think every one of us should talk to our local MP to bring up the issue. One voice might not make a difference, but hundreds will definitely make it heard.

Hi all,

they fired & forced to retire lots of staff in may and june!

they have new staff or still hiring and training them... which is slowing down the process.

thats why nothing to do eh!

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get that kind of information?

Also, I still think the letter/email would still be a good idea.
