Delay in GCMS has nothing to do with what is going on with your application at CIC. 2 month ago, I received my GCMS with 17 days delay (after 47 days) and this month I received it after exactly 30 days.
I said your case might be different because every case is. I mean security check is different for each and every one of us
. As you can see some of Dec applicants got PPR a month ago while I, an October applicant am still waiting.

I do not know. Good luck.

Thanks for your replies. Nothing to do except waiting.

Got a part time job to teach two courses at an off campus institution, then lost one due to not having eligibility to work more than 20 hours off campus according to my study permit :(
Wish had applied earlier or have received my PR status by now!
Why some of us got caught in a longer haul? ... Not complaining, just venting out... :'(
Let's hope they will start sending PPR soon...

Hi guys

I immigrated to BC last year and with no friends or family here settlement has been a success story in building. :) I love the place and at each step as we are growing I look back and see how we had to sometimes struggle for small things... There are so many things here that even the settlement agencies won't tell you.. Like the rental assistance program, Canada benefit finder and so much more.. so as a class project (I am studying to be a corporate trainer/instructor here), I created an interactive infographic where I have put most of the programs that the government has to offer and a lot of other information. it is: dr garima kamboj dot wix dot com slash immigrant

(No space anywhere)

When my immigration application was in-process, this forum was a lot of help to me and I want to give it back t the people here. Hence, I want to share it with you guys... I hope some of you find it beneficial, Thank you and all the best.

Hi Everyone

Hello Guys,

I received passport and PR confirmation on Wednesday.

I have a question about landing:
I am studying in Quebec, but I do not have CSQ.
My intending living city is Ottawa on my PR confirmation paper.
I will land by Toronto Airport when I come back to Canada in Oct.
I want to know if I can leave my Quebec address for PR card delivery?
Or it is better to leave a Ontario address?

Is there any person who had experience?
Thank you very much guys!

Congrats ;D :D

Did CIC Ask you to provide some information that you do not intend to live in Quebec?

CIC asked from most of the students in Quebec to provide such information.

Most of the students solve this problem by:

*get a driver license from another province
*rent a place in another province
*get a job offer from another province

They might ask you a proof of address during landing process, because you were living in Quebec. I think at the time of landing you have to be a resident of a province other than Quebec. If you are a resident of Quebec and you have Quebec driver license, or your home address is in Quebec you might have a problem.

Please make sure that you would be eligible for landing before your travel.

Your intention is living in Ottawa but you should have some supportive documents such as job offer, home address or something like this to convince immigration officer.

Change your address before your landing because unfortunately they may reject your landing.

Those who landed in May got their PR card last week.
The processing time is about 100 days.

She can travel without PR card but she should apply for a Travel document in your country (it can not be done in Canada) when she wants to return to Canada. You may give the PR card to your friends or your family members to give it to your wife, but mailing is not recommended.

I think courier posts do not accept to send PR card to an international address. This is my understanding!!!

When does CIC usually ask applicants to provide proof of living intention out of Qc?
I was never asked to provide this type of information.
I also did not find it on my COPR.

Do you know anybody living in Qc? How did they land? Quebec address or not?

Thank you

I think they ask it before Passport request.

I do not know any body from Qc.

Seniors please help zhanghaizh007 !!!!

Thank you, Uwaterloo! Lets hope it comes faster and allow me to land within 11 months -- then there's another 100 days waiting for the PR Card...

Better to provide some address in Ontario. Actually they will ask you the proof of
residence like lease/drivers licence etc.
