Yes, no worries. They are very generous this year :D They gave me two extra points and considered all my reference letters (including from my home country) and also they said in the summary: Reference letter from (home country) verified, company contacted :-X No idea how they contacted the company though

It is security check through Royal Canadian Mounted Police (federal police).
CIC requests directly from RCMP. Applicant doesnt have to send this. But in some cases, they ask the applicant to submit finger prints at RCMP.
hope this helps.

"the RCMP does not provide provincial or municipal policing in either Ontario or Quebec"

RCMP is kind of FBI for Canada. It usually takes a while to get the RCMP screening to be completed. That is a part of the admissibility I guess.

Thank you so much. So when CPC Ottawa replied to my email: "Your police certificates have been received" I guess they were referring to my PCC from my home country and not the RCMP right? I am now scared again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No need to be scared. its from your home country. Not the RCMP one. RCMP one is called as "Canadian criminal record check".

That is right. They do not discuss results from RCMP with you at all. It means they got your mailed PCC.

Hi pepe,

can you please check if you get these points from CPC-O?

adaptability
3+ yr post sec education ---- 5
2 years PhD in canada ------- 5

Thanks.

Thank you! I was thinking of emailing them again but I don't want to overwhelm CPC Ottawa because they may place my application file at the end of the very long queue :D

The signature may appear in your tracking page later on today.

From Sydney I had 5 points for previous studies in Canada and 5 points for previous work in Canada. Total 10.

From CPC Ottawa: 5 points for previous studies in Canada and 5 points for Spouse working full time in Canada for at least 1 years.

So CPC Ottawa paid more attention on my spouse job rather than my RA work experience for adaptability.

Hi guys, do you know how many points they will give to a foreign Master's degree (equal to Canadian according to ECA)? My application was received by Sydney on Sep 12th, and i haven't heard from them yet. I need to get 23 points for education to obtain the 67 points.
