I just got an email from VFS Abuja with subject Application accepted and the following subject

"We would like to inform you that your application has been processed in our office on xxxxx (date of passport submission)
You can track the status of your application through our website mentioned below using your tracking number.
Tracking Number:xxxxxx

On tracking it however it still shows the following message

"Visa application, tracking ID No.xxxxxxx Your processed passport has been forwarded to the Canada Visa Office, ACCRA on xxxx.To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website.

On MyCIC- Final decision is still not started

What do I make of this?

Well, I think it just to inform you that they have submitted your passport to AVO and giving you a tracking number.

By the way, what is the cost of using VFS? As in what did you pay for the services?

I submitted my passport @Abuja vfs 2 weeks ago and got an alert on the same day that my passport had been sent to Accra
Well I have just entered the 2 week mark and hope for a positive response very soon
It cost N17,000 for 2 passports and N350 for SMS notifications per applicant.

like xls said, your passport probably just reached Accra. I also used Vfs Abuja and was told they normally receive and dispatch applications/passports once a week; the message doesn't change much on their website even up to 10days after ur application is approved & closed on mycic. Calling them doesn't help either! All you need do is patiently wait.

The pickup msg wld probably read "Dear XXXX, Visa application, Tracking Id No. Xxxx – Your processed passport has been despatched from the Canada Visa Office Abuja-Ghana, on (date)? to the Canada Visa Application Centre"

Up till now , no pick up mail.

Can I initiate my pick up myself ?
Please can anyone suggest the courier that I can use for pick up.
UPS said they need pick up mail..

Who knows about DHL or fedex ?
I am in Nigeria.

They will all require pick up mail. You will have to raise a cse to AVO and I suggest using UPS, it's the cheapest, I paid 14k5 for pick up last week.
