I have only 15 days to submit passport to them. Heard of few tales of VFS delays in the past. Would you still advise VFS over DHL? What option did you use for sending your passport?

I used DHL. I sent passport on the 24th of March, it got to ghana on 29th (thanks to Easter break) but I only got it back on the 3rd of May. This is after I raised a CSE and mailed AVO. They said my passport has been ready since 7th of April, somehow I never received the notification.

Well it's not every time that, that mix up happens. you can still use dhl but make sure you start emailing them once your application status goes to Approved and closed.

My background check is still in progress as at today, and no decision made yet. Is that normal too?

yes and there is no need to worry. It takes about a week or so from the time your passport gets to AVO for your status to change to Approved and closed. 2 days later, if you don't see a pick up mail, please mail AVO or raise a CSE. Just release the wait is over. ;D

pls use dhl...is berra. the delay people normaly encounter in not dhl but AVO pick up mail omitted.

hezeb, are u fsw 2014 or EE..note old process take longer time to get visa and copr approved than EE..

DHL is better. sent passports on 10/05/2016, received by one solomon Akoto on 12/05/2016.

Please use Dhl. I got PPR on 29th April. Passport received in Accra 9th of May. Approved and collection mail same day 13th May. Yet to get my passport. Xls issue was a one off event. Dhl is faster.

Can anyone please give their two cents on how to handle the request for family information update via form IMM8. I can't seem to locate the form on the cic website. If you have filled the form in the past, can you please provide with a link to download.

You will see form IMM 0008DEP, that's the one you need. But like I said before, if there are no changes to your family structure since you applied, no need filling the form.

Something definitely wrong with the download links for cic. Keep getting this page asking to update my adobe pdf. Tried downloading on my phone, work PC, and personal computer, with the same result.


If no change in family structure, I guess it's Ok to include a letter confirming same along with the passports, right?
