AOR Worries

Hi There,

I am getting worried as I am still waiting on documents so I can submit our application.

My worry is that I left Canada July 12, 2012 (this is when I finished at my job) to return back to Australia. I understand that to qualify for CEC you must apply within 12 months of leaving your job in Canada. I am expecting all documents to arrive in the next couple of weeks and will get the application expressed posted from Australia to Canada. So they should receive the application package by the end of April...LATEST!!!

I see that it can take 1-3 months to receive an AOR??? So if it does take 3 months this would be after July 12, meaning over 12months of when I last worked in Canada, meaning don't qualify???? Or do they use the the date of when they initially receive the application??? Getting very very nervous now and there is nothing I can do about it.....

They count the date on which ur application was received.
The rule clearly says .. apply within 12 months of leaving ur job .. there is no aor considered in the timeline. So chill out 8)

YAY!!! You have made me so so happy!! It's my fiancé that is the stress head so I wanted to find out the facts before I told him anything

I'm off to have a glass of wine now and hope all documents come this week

You don't have to worry....as the rules changed last January, 2013..Now you can apply even after 1 year of leaving your job in Canada.

You just need to show you have 1 year of full-time work experience within the last 3 years before the date of your application.
