Police certificates are different in each country and territory and may be called police clearance certificates, good conduct certificates, judicial record extracts, etc. They are issued by police authorities or government departments and used by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to determine a person's admissibility to enter Canada.

Certain countries will not issue a police certificate, or provide the certificate directly to you. If this applies to you please provide a letter of explanation in lieu of a police certificate.

You will be advised if you are required to obtain a police certificate for Canada."

So, a quick update for you folks - Medicals turned to passed a couple of days ago, and eligibility review is now in progress.

I've been requested to submit FBI PCC from USA once it is ready, which is in about a month's time - so I hope that they won't put my entire application on hold in the meantime!

Cheers,
MF

Our medicals are still not needed at this time, I'm hoping its because the clinic we had them done at only uploaded the results to the e-medicals database on the 1st July, the same day we got our AOR.

I have also had to update our proof of funds and sent a CSE to CIC as when the pound dropped I was worried about the effect on our settlement funds, so I transferred them into Canadian Dollars and am holding them in a foreign currency account. I send full details, all the transfer info and proofs again, just in case it was needed.

A couple of days ago our background check changed from not needed to not started, so I am hoping that means that something positive is happening. As of today our status is...

Application/profile status --- Open
Review of eligibility Review --- in Progress
Review of medical results --- Not needed at this time
Review of submitted documents --- No additional documents are needed at this time
Scheduling an interview --- Not needed at this time
A background check is needed --- Not Started
Final decision --- Not Started

thanks @arcticbeans. I was discussing with a few other friends on a group, that since ITA's have gone down more than 50%, we should hopefully see quicker processing times for our files.. Makes sense, no? :)

Lets hope so @msf02, that would be fantastic!

I am worried about our medicals, they were all fine and clear, passed with no issues at all, and we saw the medical reports as we had copies sent to us. I think I am just being paranoid, the waiting destroys your calm sometimes I think!

don't worry about medicals, this is the simplest part.. it's just a check. What takes much more time, and will likely make you more paranoid, is the eligiblity checks and the background check hahaha

in any event, best of luck!
