:P lets see how it goes this week.

any ppr's this week so far?

So many BGC in progress from different dates...
I suppose they wait for some sort of permission
and then they will issue PPRs at once to all of us.
Can't see another explanation to this silence.
What do you think guys ?

The only thing I can think of is that this is caused by Canada post strike (from Friday). As, IRCC might now want to receive hundreds and thousands of passport and then have no way to send them back. They may also be considering other ways of receiving and dispatching passports through other courier companies.

Canada Post is not on strike.
They are functioning.

I never said they are on strike if you see carefully I did wrote "(from Friday)". They already gave a 72 hour notice so definitely they are going on strike on Friday.

I don't think IRCC is too quick to send PPRs today and return the passports before Friday.

Ok then..
What about FSW outlanders , they don't need Canada post offices , as they send their passports to LVO ?

IRCC can accepts and sends courier using other courier services also, not only CANADA POST. they just need a pre-paid return courier stamp....
CANADA POST strike might have impact on dispatching COPR... but i guess not to issue PPR.....

"If you have a mailing address in Canada: To allow you to track your passports through the mail, we strongly recommend that you purchase two (2) PREPAID Canada Post Xpresspost envelopes."

There must be a very good reason behind this.

Yes, I agree with you. In theory, this strike shouldn't affect outlanders. Besides, IRCC can use other options like Purolator.

Very true. But again as I said I THINK. I'm not saying that Canada pair strike is the only reason behind this draught. Trust me I'm also sick of waiting for PPR :P

Good reason is they prefer / recommend easy tracking of the courier by GOVT courier organization .... but they never said that other couriers are not acceptable.... My point is, CIC will not hold PPR for CANADA POST strike....

They do release PPRs in batches, i GUESS.. that's why the delay between weeks....

I'm going to ask again because I clearly don't get it.

Why would a Canada Post strike affect the processing of PR applications?

It makes absolutely zero sense to me. IRCC agents have a job to do regardless of Canada Post.

I am having trouble logging onto CIC. Anyone else having issues?
