When we applied under CEC my wife was lest than a year in Canada, we applied with emedical a which was used to apply for sowp from India as emedical was valid for one year. Old medical was done on March 2015. I don't know if this gonna further delay my file.

You won't be issued PPR or PR if one person or more in the applying party don't have a valid medical certificate.

They (CIC) should request for a medical re-assessment but I guess you can be a little pro-active by doing the medicals and updating your file via CSE.

Query for the people receiving ghost emails:

On receiving ghost emails when you logged in to MyCIC, did you see the "Status" of the "Permanent Residency" application as updated?

I logged in to myCIC and saw "Updated" against the status for "Permanent Residency", I clicked to check status/messages and there weren't any changes there. When I went back to the first page, the status of "Permanent Residency" had got changed to "Submitted".

Is this normal or have any of you guys seen things like this on the MyCIC page? I cannot correlate as I'm not receiving any direct emails since the email ID is that of my lawyer.

CIC processing strategy
As per the trends, your eligibility is cleared within the first 5 months and then what is left is the security and criminality. This is for the FSW (outland). For the inland applicants, the process is different, their BGC goes in progress within a few days after they receive the AoR. So its is difficult to predict if it is just a technical issue, or the BGC is initiated sooner in the application.

Yes it is... for example in my case... The status showed updated in myCIC in the morning or 11th Mar.. but nothing inside.. status moved back from updated to submitted... later same day.. My BG status went from Not started to in progress... and i got a ghost mail next day...
