My medicals went back to in progress. What does that mean? Does anyone know? They are valid till the end of January. I'm surprised.

Don't worry elmas! This is the new policy of CIC. There are re-assessing our medicals because there is still no final decisions for us. They are going to either extend it or ask for a redo. It's more likely that your medical will change to "passed" next week.

Yes redo! But if they wanted you to do this, they would ask you to submit the new one a few days before your MED expires. That's why I say it's more likely your MEd will change to "passed" again and this means they extend it themselves, so there is no need to redo.

CIC used to extend medical for inlanders and for cases which ready to finalize. But we can see on this forum that they've started to re-assess and extend MEDs for outlanders as well.


So sorry to say that this doesn't necessarily mean PPR. They have started to do this according to AOR date and I guess mine will be re-assessed during the next week. My friend's MED went under the same process one month ago. Her AOR is January and she is still waiting for PPR.

Hoping for PPR for all us, though!

I finally got through to the call center yesterday and a friendly agent told me that I should be hearing before Nov 24th - 6 months from the date they received my PCC files (US FBI). Hope this is useful to everyone.

Not sure if any of your files have been delayed due to documents being submitted later than the AOR date.

I think there is only one main call centre - I spoke to the agent in Canada. Has anyone else had this sort of response?

I have not even had email responses from NDVO - no point contacting them.

wow thats great actually, usually canadian agents dont respond well if ur file moved to delhi........my file in NDVO and its more than 6months.
