Please use this website to quote IRCC's current policy correctly.

Per my situation, I gave my visitor visa biometrics, which is still valid until 2031. Since I have given biometrics prior and it is still valid, my PR application does not currently require me to give a new one (at least I did not receive a request for a new biometric letter).

Below is the direct quote from IRCC website:

"
If you apply for permanent residence
Due to COVID-19, as a temporary measure, if you gave your biometrics within the last 10 years, you don’t need to give your biometrics again.
"
I gave my biometrics in 2016 for visit visa but still I got the biometrics request. After new biometrics submission they still updated my 2016 biometrics. Lol

AOR 01/12/22

no update since then..

For those who had their medicals passed already, when did you actually had the medical exams? Seeing lots of people with medicals passed already..
Thanks,
Hi. There was a news last oct 2022 that there is no need for medical for pr application if you did it within the past 5 years? Is that true?

Congratulations, Are you currently inland? Do you not need to do a repeat biometric even though you've done one in a recent visitor visa application?

I noticed this clause in the biometric letter issued upon PPR for a friend's visitor vis application

"Please note that you will be required to provide your biometric information in support of any permanent resident application, even if you apply within the validity date indicated above "

Hey,
Even I had given my bio in 2019 for a visitor visa and the same was used for this application, I had given my UCI of that application during the EE.
They linked that BIO to this application on 21st dec (along with my MEP)

Thanks.

Hi,
Are you guys in Canada? and if so, didn't they (IRCC) say that they're waiving the medical for in Canada applicants to hasten processing times?
Yes, you should receive that email. Include it in your application in lieu of medical exam

Anyone with a December AOR received any news / GUs / etc? It's been radio silence for me since biometrics submitted/received on Dec 27.

I'm not surprised or anything, I know we are still far away from the expected 6 months for processing. Just curious if anyone else has received indication that their process is moving along and close to getting a PPR. It looks like there are a couple folks with late Nov AOR who have received their PPR.

Same here. Got nothing since biometrics were given December 23. Not panicking or anything. Would love to know roughly how many people with December AORs got the go ahead though. Anyway all the best to you and I hope we all get some sort of update soon.

I did, but they sent me a request today that I need to take a new medical exam.
